Many people use this drug for medical reasons to help with symptoms. It has not been seriously proven yet that this drug has long term problems if taken on a regular basis like many legal pain medications that are addicting and have lethal affects. Although some have claimed it is addicting, I know of people who have smoked it for years and hold upstanding careers and function normally. No one would even suspect some of these people. There are legal pain medications that not only cause addiction, but have been known to distroy a persons life & internal organs in the process of maintaining their addiction. Marijuana doesn't seem to have this same affect. It appears it brings comfort to long term cancer patients and several other illness'. More people kill by drinking and driving then smoking marijuana but alcohol is still legal. Smoking cigarettes causing life threatening diseases yet they are still legal. So if this drug can help people with serious illness symptoms, or even people who have anxiety issues, why not legalize it. I would think the Gov. can make more money off it selling it as medication then the bust they make.

I think legalizing marijuana would help bring crime down. Imagine going to your local neighborhood store or pharmacy to buy it verses having to go to a ghetto somewhere to risk getting robbed and or shot because you don't have a friendly neighborhood connection that you know and trust well.

There are many people who use this medicinally It subsides the nausea from chemo and pain. There are many times pain pills do not work. I have been suffering with chronic back pain for 7 yrs. Pain pills just don't work anymore. I might try marijuana someday. It is tough and I think soon a morphine pump will be inserted in my back which is something I am not looking forward to. Legalizing marijuana will relieve a lot of peoples misery

Every time I see someone say that legalizing Marijuana would cut down on crime I ALWAYS thing that legalizing murder would too!!! You see that logic could apply to ANY law but do we want to do that. Look at cigarettes....They are legal but we are paying dearly in health care costs and continue to have to raise the taxes on them to try to recoup some of what we are spending in health care related expenses. And marijuana has how many times the carcinogens (cancer causing agents) as cigarettes. Will the cost REALLY balance out. THINK ABOUT IT.

In a 2010 report by the Common Sense for Drug Policy Organization, the American annual causes of death were classified under the following categories:

Tobacco Related 430,700
Alcohol Related 110,640
Prescription Drugs 32,000
Suicide 30,575
Homicide 18,272
Drug Induced Deaths 16,926
NSAID’s (such as Aspirin) 7,600
Marijuana 0 deaths

Before you start to wonder about the veracity of the figures above, you should be aware that no one has ever been officially declared dead from direct or indirect marijuana consumption.

If people chose to smoke cigarettes let them die not gonna bother me one bit... Main point: Legalizing it would put drug dealers out of buisness, at that point criminals would still try to rob them but thats nothing diferent than them robbing Pharmacys... We need a change and a peacefull plant is where it needs to start. That is all Thanks for reading.

Liquor is the problem. The challenge is, why is it legal and the cannabis is not.

It was the goverment's way of accepting defeat on the War On Drugs.

It pot was legal, it'd be sold the same way alcohol was.

Prisons should be for serious offenses, such as rape, murder, grand larceny, attempted homicide, not for selling an O of some kush, or smoking some hash at the crib.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Gemini

A little give and take goes a long way, so try to be flexible and malleable when dealing with others. It will also pay to ask people what they think rather than to make sweeping assumptions on their behalf, because you could be in for a surprise. A child may have some interesting information for you, or they could make a statement that really sets you thinking.
