Back then it was because of racsim which still takes place but History was supposed to teach us so we build a better us and tomorrow. Why is it illegal now in the first place clearly its not a drug how ever they put it recrerational or medicinal which doesn't make sense at all if a person doesn't smoke doesn't make them better o smarter than the person that does and many including myself, but innocent people lives are being destroyed over nothing but they let alcohol and nicotine over the counter drugs ruin lives easily when will we wake up its not marijuana causing the damage its the law system incarceration something so minor when more violent crimes which should be the main focus.

They say MJ. is addictive WHICH IS FALSE UNLIKE CIGARETTES YOU PUFFING EVERY 10 MINS. OR WHEN YOU GET THE CHANCE AND MJ you can smoke it one day and not have it the next day or even FOR THE NEXT three months and not worry about it YOU DNT LOOSE EVERYDAY GOALS YOUR LIFE FAMILY INTELLECT AND INTEGRITY DIGNITY addiction means you can go without SOMETHING AT MOST A DAY 24 HRS. AND YOU HAVE TOO HAVE IT ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE LAW HAVE THE POWER TO TAKE ALL THIS AWAY AND WHY WHEN THESE PEOPLE ARE CITIZENS AND LIVE REGUALAR LIVES WITH EVERYDAY PROBLEMS PHYSICALLY O NON PHYSICAL BILLS FAMILY WITH RIGHTS AND ARE JUST INNOCENT PEOPLE AS WELL. I HOPE SOMEONE SEE THIS AND TAKE HEED TO THIS B/C WARNER ROBINS GEORGIA NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING FAST LIKE TOMORROW AND STOP SWEEPING IT UNDER THE RUG.

Nope, but making it legal won't cause those that don't toke and drive to suddenly start.

I dunno what prices are like down there but I can give you a Canadian example of how the govt can tax the bejeezuz out of marijuana and still keep it WELL below street prices.
First off, it costs as much to produce one gram of weed as it does one cigarette. Up here, we have what are called "king size" cigarettes which are a little longer than normal. These contain 0.8 grams of tobacco. A large king-size pack of brand name smokes up here costs about $15 for a 25 pack. In tobacco weight it's about 2/3 of an ounce. So a full ounce would cost $21. That's with the already high tax rate on tobacco.
Now, compare that to the street price for weed up here which can run anywhere from $180-$300/oz.

Now, if a highly taxed ounce of tobacco costs $21, then they could tax the snot out of pot even higher so that it's $75-80/oz. A huge savings for the smoker, a huge tax boon for the govt PLUS the savings to law enforcement, the judicial system, and the penal system. As well as less incentive for organized crime to to stay involved with it, especially if you really ramp up the penalties for trafficking and cultivation with intent to traffic.
I'd also recommend allowing people to have a few plants for their own personal use, I'd say 6 at any given time would be plenty.

This statement is so irrelevant it doesn't make sense.

Not at all, the issue already exists on the roads and highways. There are people who already toke and drive and there are people that don't. Those that don't won't suddenly start just because pot becomes legal.

It's like saying drunk driving exists because Prohibition was repealed.

So does soda, fast food, junk food, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, coffee, energy drinks, air/water pollution, plastic water bottles etc.
Besides, no one is advocating making it legal for kids. The fact that it's illegal right now actually makes it EASIER to get.

I am here to enform you and state that Nov.17 2012 that the Warner Robins Police department violated my every right and i have proof i have a witness to the scene and what happened that day should never happen to anybody else white black hispanic or whatever the race may be. As i was passing through this neighborhood Westwood on Corder road to be exact a raid was going on but i didnt know and when i parked my car 50 feet away from what was going on a police officer proceeded to make a judgemental decision and persue me as if i was a perpetrator for something i just showed up to get my hair done. He asked to search me and i felt there was no need because i didn't have anything or wasn't hiding anything on me. So we proceed to search me after i told him No. He grabs one hand and pushes me on the back of my hood. I said officer its no need for the aggression im doing exactly what you say. He says turn around i did and pushes me again i resisit not to be search or be detain but to be treat in and unorderly fashion. So he puts the taser in my back like he's going to shoot me with it, remind you im already on the back of my hood with my hands on it in a vulnerable position. So he calls for back up like im irrate about 9 more officers come down and one officer puts a taser in my face. Which at that time i have never felt so scared humiliated nervous all at the same time all because they couldn't find a person to link to the crime scene. So you tell me am i a bad guy if all i do is try to live life take care of family friends and my pets. I feel like this has got to stop the violence used on no violent people and worthless time and money for people that are true cititzens. Im bout to take action if you think you can find in your heart to rethink for what has happened to me over the course becoming a man in a society where im not going to succede because of my skin is really demoralizing to Houston County Georgia. Warner Robins police are racist I have heard it word from a inside personal. Do you condone your law system to treat the citizens of Ga. this way?

I have never known someone that smoke weed, hurt anybody...the only ones hurting people are the cops and court arresting and ruining lives of the people that smoke it.
