Who Cares, you sound like you're stalking Tupelo_Guy. I think you ought get a life like Frank White said. Doing things like that on forums is a sign of a life wasted. Do something productive than bashing individuals online. Good day

Yes, I agree marijuana should be regulated & taxed like alcohol and tobacco.

I don't smoke marijuana, however it is a proven safe and effective medication for chronic conditions and help cancer patients eat. 18 or so other states have already made it legal, so why not MS? Just seems like prohibition of alcohol over again.

Nothing is safe and effective, we die from some thing. It comes down to how much it accelerates death. I am all for people killing themselves just do not tax and insure me for people's abusing their body.

Alcohol and cigarettes are leaps and bounds more damaging, addicting, processed, synthesized, and harmful, than the plant that is cannabis.

Perhaps the processed cannabis is better for your health than the dirty weed?

What about health care costs and the price of insurance. If more people damage their health the insurance costs go up.

Time to legalize. Do this and crime & serious drugs can be focused on by the law.

I do not smoke marijuana, but I've seen the good things it can do from documentaries on tv. It can help a lot of people. If 19 states can legalize it, then it should be legal everywhere!!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!

One size does not fit all each state has different cultures and lifestyles. The idea is not to make it a crime but not also to condone its use for entertainment as it is a health hazard. Why not stop making laws against it and stop giving free medical care. Let people destroy their health without the rest of us paying for it.

I'm not saying to make it legal for any and everyone to use. I do think it should be a medical use. I have watched a documentary about a 5 year old little girl with epilepsy, sorry I'm sure I didn't spell it right. This poor little girl was wheelchair bound, couldn't eat or even speak and had over 300 seizures a month. They had her on so much medicine that didn't even help and she was about to die.
Then her parents tried a last effort and gave her a marijuana concentrate. The concentrate contained less than 1% THC, which is what gets you high! It was all CBD, which is the medical part of marijuana. This little girl went from having over 300 seizures a month to less than ONE!!! This is why I am a supporter! Maybe medical marijuana will keep more people from getting hooked on all these damn pain pills that they don't think twice about shoving down your throat!
As far as" people destroying their health without us paying for it"
Don't we already pay for it when people in jail or prison are in there over a damn plant! Something I can grow beside my tomatoes and corn! It comes from the earth not from man made poison like meth or crack.
If you had a loved one with an illness and their doctor told you marijuana would help, would you be against them? Look at it from all sides before you judge! Thanks :)

==========
Yes prison should keep dangerous people off the street and make them pay for their up keep. We can not support 3 million there to just serve time.
==========
The drug available in the plant is just not what you can grow next to corn. That is a form of hemp.
Hash oil is a blend of several components found mostly in the flower of the female plant. It takes much research and careful genetics to come up with a drug to help different problems. Then China will do it cheaper. The government owns the patent so it prevents drug companies from profiting.

Since when are people that smoke marijuana dangerous? I have never heard of someone getting high and driving and crashing into someone killing them, like with alcohol! I've never heard of anyone stealing or robbing someone to get money to buy weed, like people who are on crack or heroine! And since when did California, Colorado or any other 19 or how ever many states where it's legal, start getting their marijuana shipped in from CHINA??? On a final note, did I ever say that I could grow MEDICAL marijuana next to my corn? NO!!! I'm not stupid. I know just anyone can't grow medical marijuana. If you don't support it, I'm not pushing my opinion on anyone. All I'm saying is if it's okay for 19 or so states in the u.s. to vote, then all states should be allowed to vote!

People who use marijuana before driving are nearly twice as likely to cause a car crash as those not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to a Canadian analysis of previous studies.
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/health/st...
Number of people killed in Mexico's drug war since 2006: 70,000+

Number of people in the U.S. that died from an accidental drug overdose in 2009:31,758

"Some 4.3 percent of Americans have been dependent on marijuana, as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR; American Psychiatric Association, 2000), at some time in their lives. Marijuana produces dependence less readily than most other illicit drugs. Some 9 percent of those who try marijuana develop dependence compared to, for example, 15 percent of people who try cocaine and 24 percent of those who try heroin. However, because so many people use marijuana, cannabis dependence is twice as prevalent as dependence on any other illicit psychoactive substance (cocaine, 1.8 percent; heroin, 0.7 percent - See more at: http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/Marijuana#Tre...

4.3 million persons had marijuana dependence or abuse (representing 1.7 percent of the total population aged 12 or older, and 58.9 percent of all those classified with illicit drug dependence or abuse), 2.1 million persons had pain reliever dependence or abuse, and 1.1 million persons had cocaine dependence or abuse (Figure 7.2).

According to the federal Treatment Episode Data Set, in 2011 there were 333,578 admissions to treatment with marijuana reported as the primary substance of abuse out of the total 1,844,719 admissions for all substances

In the present study, the most persistent adolescent-onset cannabis users evidenced an average 8-point IQ decline from childhood to adulthood.

This 10 year follow-up study showed that incident cannabis use significantly increased the risk of incident psychotic experiences.-

"Our primary analysis looked at the risk of a motor vehicle collision while under the influence of cannabis and included all nine studies (relating to 49 411 participants). The pooled risk of a motor vehicle collision while driving under the influence of cannabis was almost twice the risk while driving unimpaired -
