Marijuana has gotten a bad rap by the public and politicians for decades. Booze is legal and results in the death of 250,000 persons in this country alone. The same politicians who oppose it's legalization will then retire to an anti-room and have a nice glass of scotch. The legalization would bring in revenue to the state. Of course we will have to deal with those who are stupid about the way they act while under the influence, however I don't hear those who oppose it complaining about the DUI deaths caused by alcohol! most of those who use pot sit and relax while under the influence, unlike liquor, which is served in bars and those people drive home! The U.S government banned pot due to Illegal immigrants back in the 20's, prior to that they had tax stamps printed up, but my info tells me they printed only 3. Thus making it impossible for it to be obtained legally. Provide a growers permit that is taxable, reasonably, and allow it to be purchased under the same conditions as liquor! Only to those who are 21 and the sales should be taxed. Lets not forget that liquor is used by the church in their ceremony, wine, and that cigarettes are pumped up with nicotene which the FDA has banned from public purchase, yet tabacco companies have added in one way or another for decades!

I don't know about ending the war on drugs, honestly it might do better if you simply took pot off the hit list. All I know is there has never been a pot user in history that woke up in a prison cell saying "what the heck happened last night" and then a cop tells them "oh you just went crazy and killed someone", but with alcohol? Yeah, its happened a lot with alcohol.

MUCH less dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes!!!! Spain leagalized everything in 1982, and they have NO problem with drugs like we do. We waste our money on the DEA and it only gets worse.

Could help revive the economy with a brand new market. Then you can raise fines on narcotics to make up for removing marijuana from the legal system. Tada!

why should people have to live in fear to live without pain. it is impossible to overdose on cannabis. because it was made illegal by big corporations simply to allow them to sell nylon rope to the navy and racial issues. and the fact that the government has waged war on the american people using billions of our tax dollars destroying families. and for what?

hink that the government should legalize Marijuana because it’s nothing harmful. I mean, Dr.’s prescribe it to their clients, so it must be for good use, right? I think the most damage that it does is kill some of your brain cells, but nothing else really. It helps relieves peoples pain!

I am not a smoker (any more) but the plant has many uses and should not be classified as a narcotic.

It is natural. It is a herb, with moderation and under control as medical help it is good to use. Not to get stoned.

either support marijuana legalization or alcohol prohibition. Can't see how people think one is ok, while the other is not.
