WTF, Were going to make drinking a beer illegal again??? Wow that worked really well during prohibition. I guess I should get the still up and running since these dumb bastards still don't get it. I will make a ton of money and the taxpayer gets nothing. Not a good plan.

Maybe we should abolish all laws then. Murder still happens. So does rape and stealing. I mean the laws don't stop them from happening so why do we have laws for those in the first place? Maybe it should just be a free for all.

I wasn't referring to murder, stealing, rape, robbery, lying, ETC. The basic 10 commandments. Your comment just enforces your inability to make sound judgements.

It's not a drug. It's just a plant.
It causes no cancer, no black lung, no anything.
It also doesn't react the same to everyone.
You might get very high, or it could relive your back pain for a few days.

Marijuana is still a drug that leads to addiction. Once someone is addicted to something they will do whatever it takes to get the addiction filled which can also involves crime. People will argue that it is ok and to just tax it, however the extra tax funds that are generated will be spent on medical expenses for the longterm effects that we no research on.
Marijuana is not addictive! You need to learn more about the stuff!

Whether or not it is for recreational or medical reasons, it's good to have some kind of outlet when you have no real money to count on. Also, people are getting hooked on prescription drugs as well as street drugs. The government could also add the revenue to the budget. It's not harmful as many would like for you to think. However; of all of the drugs, alcohol is the most destructive and always has been.

As a musician I've been around pot-smokers for 43 years. I've never seen any violence, or "addiction," or advancement to hard drugs. Some may have tried harder drugs, but preferred pot and went back to it for good. It has NONE of the pitfalls of alcohol dependence, and has a positive effect on human health.

Missouri drug cop said that people who think marijuana should be legalized are a bunch of illiterate potheads who collect welfare checks!

In addition, new scientific research proves it's damaging effect on brain function, potentially increasing the risk for schizophrenia and other psychiatric problems. This is only ONE of many websites covering this. You have to be a moronic idiot to want to legalize drugs!http://www.medicalnewsto day.com/articles/263936.php

young "developing" brains MAY (I like that word) be susceptible, and lets take a look at what ALCOHOL does to a young developing brain. 21 and over for cannabis use,(just like alcohol). And in other news, alcohol related DEATHS from car accidents rose 4% in 2013, to just over 10,000, while in Colorado, a state that legalized cannabis, DUI's DROPPED 9%....nice try cop... and cannabis makes black men look at white women too....We've been lied to about cannabis for so many years, it's hard to take any "research " seriously. I'm still waiting for some to die from it....

There is no comparison. You need to stop being an alcoholic and stop trying to label something you know nothing about. You're suffering from bias syndrome. Get a life.

The Proof is well documented in History!!!!!!! And can not be denied! I hear, over and over, drug addicts claiming that alcohol is worse than drugs (even harder drugs than Marijuana). I say this is clearly BS! Just a lie repeated over and over to where some people believe it to be true; it is a propaganda ploy. To get to the point, CULTURE, CIVILIZATIONS AND PROGRESS HAVE SURVIVED ALCOHOL ... THROUGHOUT ALL DOCUMENTED HISTORY, But Drugs injected [no pun intended] into societies and countries, destroys all 3 of these. Check out our nation's Regression since te late '60's. Check out the European experience. The latest in scientific studies. You are living in a FOOL's Paradise, if you think otherwise!!!!! You drug addicts don't have to deal with the kids you leave behind, you don't have to deal the lives you have shattered, you don't have to deal with the extreme burden that you lay on the American taxpayers!!!!!!!!!!

One of hundreds of articles, this is just one I picked up yesterday. Teenage pot smokers could be damaging brain structures critical to memory and reasoning, according to new research that found changes in the brains of heavy users.
