Everyone knows it's hypocritical to have it illegal with alcohol being legal. Alcohol is worse for you and leads to much worse decisions. Beyond that, we are tossing out prescription drugs like candy to solve something as simple as needing help falling asleep and the side affects are depression, death, etc. Funnier than that, they have drugs to solve depression that has worse depression causing suicide as its side affect. Also, organized crime got it's start because alcohol was made illegal, it gave them a huge source of income. Right now the drugs that we have as illegal are doing the same for the cartels. There are plenty more reasons, but I don't take this seriously enough to write an essay on the topic-it is just a poll.

Reduce the criminal association for something that is neither harmful or without benefits. This is a safer substance than either alcohol or tobacco, and they are legal.

Legalizing marijuana will bring with it to a selling area users/pushers of more hardcore drugs and the company they keep; gang members especially. Even casual users can be easily tempted to cross the line. This could quickly bring a bad reputation to a neighborhood, and bring down housing values substantially. This may not be evident to a person who may get stoned once in a while with some friends, but since there is a high chance of more problems, why risk it???

Of course it should be legal. I am a MM patient near Portland, and have been for over a year. I have 12 plants in my basement. I am 53 and doing great following this therapy. It is sad to think that in many parts of the country I could be arrested.

Reduce my property tax and tax the sale of marijuana. Tax revenues could be in the hundreds of thousands. If people are looking for a moment of relaxation I would prefer they use marijuana over alcohol.

Tax the sale of marijuana and lower my property tax. Marijuana has the potential to earn more tax revenue than alcohol. It is also safer than alcohol.

It's no worse than alcohol, and most of the science against it is funded by people with an agenda. The tax revenue could help the entire country with some of the financial issues we are all facing. On top of that, I can't drink, bad stomach.

I feel that the effects of Marijuana are milder than the effects of Alcohol. Why should one be any different than the other? Anything can be considered dangerous when abused. With proper regulation, there should be no issues.
