freedom? life? liberty? The money buggers can pursue what they consider to be happiness driving oversized 4x4s and leaching tons of miracle cleaning products and pharmaceuticals into the groundwater. What's the harm in allowing us to quietly engage in our own not-necessarily-constructive pass-time? Does the ruling class / right wing fear a loss in productivity? How about not selling out our industrial base to China for pennies on the dollar instead?

Better to tax the money made from the sales then have some drug dealer profit. Why don't people talk about this part of it. God people are stupid as hell.

Ignore the part after "unless your scared." I posted this on a different forum and then I found a more local one

Recent reports show that we are spending about 42 Billion Dollars on marijuana prohibition at all levels. The Rand Corporation recently reported that the Drug Enforcement administration has severely misreported the negative impact of marijuana on our society.
The money we are spending on prohibition should be going for education and infrastructure development.

the centers for disease control reported last year that excessive alcohol consumption cost around 76,000 lives, prescription drugs cost 38,000 lives and marijuana did not even warrant a mention.

the special interest groups that have had this stranglehold on the government needs to be overturned and we need to bring common sense to this issue for the first time in decades.

Just have a look at the types of people who don't want it to be legal! The national "debate" is like an 80s coming of age movie. Let's push this thing through while the casserole-eaters are still around to see we won.

Tax it, make money.
Marijuana alone can be benificial. "They say it's a gateway to other drugs, I don't know but take the mystery and rebellion away and it's definately not as intriguing.

The government needs to do a better job at convincing the American voters if they want to continue on with this failed prohibition of marijuana. They claim that the 'plant' is dangerous and deadly, yet they can't provide any proof or credible evidence to back these claims up. Medicinal marijuana has numerous healing qualities. Hemp proved itself during the time it was the law to grow it.

NEWSFLASH: Marijuana was legal to consume all throughout world history up until 1937 and the human race did not get messed up, they evolved just fine, in fact they made it to the top of the food chain and became the most advanced species to thrive on this planet.
