Why is marijuana not legal? Alcohol is much more dangerous, yet you can get it EVERYWHERE. Marijuana should just be legal-- if they taxed it, the government could make money. So they'd be happy, we'd be happy :) Legalizing it would do more good than bad.

It's harmless and should be legalized it only does three things 1. Makes you happy 2. Makes you hungry 3. Makes you sleepy and you can get these 3 things from anything so I don't understand why it makes a big difference and plus the government will make money.

You start out with weed then start doing coccaine, meth, heroine, lsd, pcp and then go bezerk and ruin your life as well as others. Pot is the stepping stone to hard drugs which are not better than alcohol. Smoking pot is illegal for a reason. If you start smoking pot, you will have a needle sticking in your arm real soon. If your parents are smoking pot, please turn them in so they can get help. If kids you know are smoking pot, tell the police on them so they can get help. Drugs are bad. My aunt smoked pot and a firetruck ran into her because of it.
Ya turn in your parents, hope you like foster homes and being stared at like a puppy in a window while two complete strangers decide your fate.Turn your friends in so you will have none or possibly end up face down in a drainage ditch for snitching.Smoked for 15 years, haven't used any other drugs, specially one you have to use a needle for. This is the perfect example of an uneducated opinion.

It kills brain cells while relieving pain. I've read about less and more harmful medications. Legalize and tax it so misuse is curbed as much as possible. I'm not convinced it leads to greater drug abuse.

Marijuana helps GROW brain cells if you eat it or take it as cannabis oil! Smoking anything including dried grass or paper will kill brain cells because breathing smoke into your lungs slow down the supply of oxygen to your brain. If you hold your breath long enough without smoke, you can kill brain cells due to lack of oxygen. Marijuana does NOT contain anything that can kill brain cells. Apples don't kill brain cells, but if you dried out apple peelings and smoked them, the SMOKE would cause your brain cells to die. If marijuana were legal, people could take cannabis oil and help GROW brain cells instead of causing brain damage from toxic drugs from Big Pharma.

People who say marijuana is a gateway drug are some of the most ignorant people that walk the face of this earth. Stop blaming a plant for the laziness and incompetence of the human race. I've never done meth. I will never do meth. People have freewill and we make our own choices. Weed didn't make your husband a lazy alcoholic. Most likely there were issues there before weed. Weed doesn't turn you into a burnt out meth cook. I've been smoking for 10 years now, I'm educated, I have common sense, and I make good and logical choices, stoned or not. I function, all day, doing everyday things everyone else does, whilst smoking a PLANT. It's not manufactured, its grown. It has many health benifits that are being overlooked and dismissed because its illegal for some unknown reason. And to each and everyone of you who are knocking it, please enlighten me on how many prescription pills you've been convinced that you have to have. Can you tell me step by step the way those are manufactured and what is in them? Cannibas Sativa: Sunlight, dirt, water.

The gateway drug? What about ppl who have never used drugs, except the prescribed pain meds for a Brocken back that lead to a pill addiction?

Fact is, addiction is a behavior problem not a result of using weed

Aaron.
Life is filled with all kinds of little annoyances such as afflict you. Some people are just unlucky. The only active ingredient believed to provide relief to those individuals who suffer from such either real or imagined ailments is THC.(Tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is readily available in pill or suppository form.
"Some elements of marijuana, when isolated, can be helpful to patients under medical supervision. THC, which is the active ingredient in marijuana, can and has been created synthetically, allowing its medicinal properties (without the "high") to be used as medicine. DEA and the FDA approved Marinol™, a safe, pill-form of synthetic THC which has been available to patients since 1995. For many years, Marinol™ has been available to patients who are suffering the effects of chemotherapy and other medical conditions, such as AIDS, where THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) can be helpful. It's the THC and not the marijuana plant that has medicinal properties. DEA has approved and will continue to approve research into whether the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, can be adapted for medical use."

This supposedly helpful active ingredient is available and it is legal. Instead of rotting your mind by smoking pot and becoming a pothead dullard, why don't you just ask your Government licensed "doctor" for a prescription?
Ronald
Oh geez, really? Sigh, THC is not the compound in cannabis that helps people with healing. The fact that Marinol is 100% synthetic THC is the reason many people don't find it helpful. There are many other cannaboinds that do different things. Breast milk has been found to produce the one the same cannaboids, is it thought that is why breast fed babies need to eat more often than formula ones, and why it is so helpful to those with chronic wasting diseases, or those suffering from chemotherapy side effects.
