LET'S LOOK AT IT THIS WAY ALCOHOL IS A DRUG!!!!*PLAIN AND SIMPLE* BUT BEING OF THE AGE TO CONSUME IT LEGALLY IT SEEMS TO BE IGNORED, MANY OF SUCH VIOLENT CRIMES AND ACTS BEING COMMITTED UNDER SUCH INFLUENCE. AND WHETHER THE STATE CHOOSES TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA OR NOT WILL NOT STOP THE SOCIAL USE OF THE COMMUNITY. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO CONSUME AND CONTINUE TO USE MARIJUANA ILLEGALLY WHY NOT MAKE IT BENEFICIAL TO ALL.

It was always a medicinal remedy by most native American Indians, some South American cultures, and other Canadian cultures long before it was used as a recreational drug. Animals, birds, and insects have used it for natural medicine. Yes, it has harmful chemicals in it, but only in excess.

I support the legalization of medical marijuana. I am a chronic pain suffer and I think this would be a good option to narcotic pain medication.

I could write a 8 page paper on the reasons to support the legalization of marijuana.
If you look up medical marijuana on Wikipedia you will find that marijuana has several medical uses. It is not legal for the basic reason that the pharmaceutical companies would lose billions of dollars if it was legalized for medicinal purposes. Everybody knows that big pharmaceutical companies have a great influence in politics. Why not let the pharmaceutical companies distribute it and let the government tax it's sales. Everyone would win, and it would generate millions of tax dollars and help with government aid where it is needed in social programs.

One of the problems that the marijuana reform movement consistently faces is that everyone wants to talk about what marijuana does, but no one ever wants to look at what marijuana prohibition does.

Marijuana never kicks down your door in the middle of the night and puts a fully loaded assault rifle in your face. Marijuana never locks up sick and dying people in cages with rapist and murders. Marijuana does not suppress medical research. Marijuana does not peek in bedroom windows. Marijuana does not take away kids scholarships.

Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could.

Dont forget about the tabacoo industry. They are more opposed to it than any other group and will fight tooth and nail to keep in illegal.

I believe it should be a persons choice. I know from prior use it is much less harmful then alcohol. Unlike alcohol it does posess medicinal values.

Your just a typical parent looking to blame something besides the actions of a irresponsible son. Most those things were going to happen anyway because of his choices, marijuana has nothing to do with it. I smoked it for years and loved it. I always had a job and preformed well. Did I make bad choices ? Well yes I did but not because of weed, because thats what humans do. I dont smoke anymore only because I work a fulltime job and a partime job and weed makes me loose my motivation. Also it is still illegal in Iowa. Loosing motivation is the only drawback Ive ever experianced with weed. LEGALLIZE IT !!!!!!!

drugs is a drug. We do not need anymore problems in our country than we have already. What will be next? Our own local area is falling apart. Our children cannot go outside their homes to play without being taken;killed by liquor;guns;gangs-illegal people;and now marijuana? No
