Get the money out of the 'bad guys' hands(Mexican drug cartel's and local gangs.) Legalization is the lesser of "two evil's", if in fact smoking a joint in the privacy of one's own home is 'evil.'

Medical Marijuana is highly usefull in treating glaucoma, reducing spasms from heriated disks, cancer pain(better then prescibed pain killers ie: opiates and it's Non-physically addictive. It works by changing the the way your brain processes pain. Instead of dulling the pain like opiates which only work for a brief period because your body builds up a tolerance to them, it allows you to acknowledge the pain and completely block it out. It keeps working, relaxing muscles to allow healing to occur. Because it's cheap to grow, the pharmysuticle companys' would be out of business in the pain management category were it to be legalized.

medical marijuana has many uses medically i myself suffer eplipsy and anoxeria nervosa.. medication in pill form can lead to various health problems.. pot just makes you a little dopey but i have heard no overdoses on marijuana.. there are cancer patients etc. who can not digest medicine who suffer a lot of problems with meds. and by legalizing it would be easier for a lot of poeple.

Abraham Lincoln writes, "Prohibition... goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes... A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

Hey Larry, nice quote. Lincoln had a lot of foresight, could think through situations and problems, see the 'big picture' and make correct evaluations. If only more people would think things through a little better nowadays, we would live in a more civilized and compassionate society.

A better choice than alcohol. No violent crime due to drug. You don't hear "pot involved in local shooting between friends".

Marijuana is not really this issue. I thinks the issue is the attempts to legislate morals and personal life styles. Such efforts have always failed and weaken the credibility of legislators and enforcement. What people do in the privacy of their homes without harm to others is not the field for legislation.

I don't smoke, I don't want to, but I think that the money should go out of it, and I think something so mundane should be accessible for those who need it.

Good way for states to collect tax revenue, as long as the Gov stays out.Growers and sellers can collect taxes on their sales.
