There are far worse things alcohol for instance. If it were legalized the govt. could collect taxes from it we wouldn't have people put in jail for the taxpayers to keep and probably the sale of it may decline.

I don't do the stuff myself, probley never will, but it's proven that it does less damage than alchol, and people are gonna do it anyways, wether it's legal or not. I say legalize it. Again, personaly I wouldn't do it, but still, alot of people do and will keep doing it, legal or not.

The old myths and stereotypes the government portrayed pot to be evolved from fear and prejudice when Mexican workers brought pot with them to smoke and relax after working in the fields. It was soon taken up by blacks and musicians. There was also a strong effort by cotton growers and other business who feared loss of income due to marijuana's superior fabric, paper, oils, fuels, and nutritional benefits.

With the appointment of Harry Aslinger in the 30's, films like "Reefer Madness" came out to scare and influence the public. In fact, there has never been a proven negative aspect of marijuana. There has never been an overdose let alone a death due to smoking pot. One can't say the same for cigarettes, alcohol, or even aspirin.

Fifteen minutes on Google and one can find all the information they need to make an informed decision rather than believe the old propaganda.
