Marijuana is a valuable God-given resource and to outlaw it is tantamount to blasphemy.

You must not be a "concerned citizen" when it comes to roadway safety or the fact that marijuana is proven to be a gateway drug to other drugs.

As a cancer survivor I know the benefits of useing it as a medicine. As far as a "gateway" drug, I disagree. I would never be that stupid as to think meth and or cocaine are the next logical step. If you all want to clean up the illegal drug use here, GO AFTER THE COOKERS AND THE BAD COPS THAT ALLOW SO MUCH METH TO BE COOKED AND DEALT HERE!!!

As a cancer survivor I am aware of the benefits of using it as medicine. As far as a "gateway" drug, I would never be so stupid as to think meth or cocanine would be my next logical step. It is meth that is destroying the Panhandle. STOP THE COOKERS AND THE BAD COPS THAT ALLOW IT. Drunks kill people. I have personally NEVER heard of a head on crash involing a marijuana high driver. Drunk, coked-up, meth-heads will do more harm than someone who just smokes marijuana.

Quit spewing lies. It is NOT a gateway drug. You want a gateway drug? Howabout cigarettes or booze. Cannabis will not go away and is less destructive than ibuprofen. The war on drugs is failed. The illegal cannabis trade only fuels illegal immigration and mexican cartels. So what will it be? Illegal immigrants or legal cannabis and hemp. Hemp could easily replace corn for ethanol stock, but it's not profitable to grow something naturally. Gotta have those super hybrids that take specialized fertilizers from simplot or whoever. Please make the sensible choice, your country is depending on it.

Remember when people started disappearing in the eighties. I don't think judge silverman is alive anymore, but that man ran the biggest drug dealing ring in the panhandle and those who knew wound up on railroad tracks drunk. Panhandle of Neb. is one of the most corrupt good ol boy places I've ever lived, with more drugs there than in the cities. I wouldn't be surprised if that same old network of silvermans is now cooking and selling meth. Panhandle is a weird place, be careful.

Better catch up on your gateway drug research. Recent documents show that marijuana is not a gateway drug.

i like sheep me's comments. great to know other people are finally shouting out what happened in the 80's in the bluffs, with all the drug trouble. as a teen i knew about some bad stuff like that overhearing my parents conversations. scary stuff.
still continues today.

weedman is correct. I grew up there as a middle school girl and saw lots of drugs in the schools. I hope something is done about the huge problem.

CORRECTION: There is no such thing as a gateway drug...that's right, no such thing.

Well as bad as weed is, it does not kill like meth does. Talk to the Bayard police about how dangerous a meth barn is where they cook stuff vs. a rusted old trailer where they smoke weed!

You're wrong about one thing there, weed is not bad. People can be bad, but not weed.

I would clean up meth first as Mexican gangs are selling it in SB and they are deadly.
