i think it should be if not for there to be less crime then for it to be a choice other than drinking or tobacco...... its a plant and retards will just find a new chemical to burn there brains on and it helps with pain and so much more......

The effects of alchohol are much more damaging than that of marijuana. While I feel that marujuana is very demotivating, I feel that it has great medicinal qualities. It is a real shame that our government had demonized it to the point that they have.

Went to "high"school in the 70s so I can't say that I didn't inhale.

I did, a lot.

But then I got a job and stopped getting high all the time. Its now 30 something years later and I'm doing pretty good.

Everyone that I know of who kept on toking though, never maid very much of themselves.

Dope is bad for ya.

The biggest problem in the Jr. High and High School kids that are getting hooked on it. The older people making it seem "ok" and "cool" don't help!

I know more people 40 and older that smoke dope than I do that drink beer. I am 52. I would smoke it if I wasn't getting tested at my job all the time. These aren't welfare bums, I'm talking 1 lawyer, a few business owners,(yep, in puxico), and even some financialy well off retired people. It's not gonna go away!

you dont get hooked on weed.....its the rebellion against authority they are going after. as long as weed is illegal. it will be the rebel thing to do..besides it may be bad for your body, but so is that big mac in your fat little hands...The irony is, people who are not scared of weed, can see the benifit and the stupidity of it being illegal. Fact is...you dont know what you are talking about, you just say the fear line you have been taught. legalazation, education and control commercially would eliinate half the crime in the US. So dont believe stigmas, educate yourself!

I know a business owner that has said the very same thing. They have bragged about how they have been successful and still been a daily user. But the truth is regardless what you think the benefits are, like this lady if you look at the lives around you as a whole, just like alcohol and any other drug it ruins not only yours but the people around you. I know this business owner would agree with me at this moment.
You are telling others to educate themselves, how do you know you are not the one lacking education. the web is full of propaganda for the legalization of weed, but most is biased misinformation.

Here's something unbiased. Those whom tout weed as a gateway drug, I once argued that point. Today, watching our youth, those on probation and those with jobs that drug test, I have a different opinion.

Pot IS a gateway drug on the basis that the above mentioned cannot smoke pot and test clean for 30 + days, but they can do meth, coke, bath salts, plant fertilizers, PK's and the list goes on and on of such things that DO NOT SHOW or show for only 3 days on drug tests. The result is pee test Thursday, party Thursday night through Sunday and test clean by the Thursday meet w/probation their officer.

Now to make things even worse is these new LEGAL drugs OUR KIDS and all those others are useing. Such as bath salts and plant fertilizers do not show up in current tests and even if they did, they are legal!

My theory is that pot has became a gateway drug by the fact and only by the fact that the amount of time it shows in testing compared to these MUCH MUCH MORE DANGEROUS DRUGS that can go undetected give a false sense of security.

Those of you who get out in our little town need to smell the roses and open your eyes. I would venture a bet that at least 30% of our own 12 years and older in our school system do one or more of these undetectables. If you disbelieve, start inquirung with some of those that are out and about in our community. It is only a matter of time before we experience an overdose of one of our own and it WILL NOT BE DUE TO POT.

im an old fart as well, i have been getting drug tested from the time i was 18 to current date, i have never failed one, but that is because i stopped smoking pot in order that i could keep my job. i will tell you i am very "pro" pot even if i cant smoke. i have never known a single person that smoked a joint and went home and beat the crap out of the family, but i can recall lots of violent drunks. research has shown marijuana has been here for several thousand years, wonder what or who allowed it to thrive that long and why? 14 states have recognized its medical use. you preach against it, if all states recognize its use and you go to the doctor and he recomends and writes you a prescription for med. marijuana to treat your ailment, are you going to look him in the eye and say "oh my god, im not going to try that evil product, i would rather you just give me some deritive of an opiate?, maybe oxycodone, or morophine (ms contin), if your working the dr. you might even get some xanax to go with the pain pills, hey must be ok to take those i mean after all, the pills will create loss of memory, confusion, physical addiction, kidney failure, loss of liver functions, the list is exhaustive. pot just made me hungry. any thoughts?
