I am 66 years old and after a long life, I feel that this is probably less harmful than alcohol and can help many people who might be ill.

What about marijuana's harmful affects on the functions of central nervous system and its ability to hinder the memory (especially short term) and movement.
I guess the argument could the same for alcohol, being that it too has harmful affects on the body.
(hell, too much pizza or cigarettes are bad too)..
But the argument of legalizing marijuana has nothing to do with alcohol (or pizza) anyway...
Legalizing marijuana?
For what?
Easier to get/buy?
So you can get stoned in public(or work!?), or perhaps drive stoned?
Will it be cheaper?
Eliminate the drug trade(or will it?)?
Help the ill?
Eliminate 'non-crime' or will it hinder true criminals from being arrested?
Who knows what the good/bad will be...there are too many questions. The decision cannot be based how you 'feel'. This legalization process may go on a while..
for the record, I do not smoke and probably won't if it is legalized. I see it more as a moral issue (non religious). Who knows if views will change if it is legalized...they probably will, looking at past history..

The drug should be controlled like alcohol and taxed like it. Too much money has been spent on controlling it. Prohibition didn't work in the past and it won't now.

0 deaths. Ever, yet illegal. Why things that kill so many can be bought at your local gas station.
