Legalize it. Then tax it like cigarettes. Use the tax money to support law enforcement agencies.

People are already smoking it and have been smoking it and using it medicinally, industrially and for relaxation for over 7,000 years now. The amount of medical research showing all the illness and disorders it helps to treat is staggering...

with new research reports coming in all the time.

We are going into over 70 years of prohibition of cannabis/hemp. Our Founding Forefathers built this Country on hemp. The journals of several of them are in the Library of Congress and they show that hemp was very much a part of life and finance. They used it for fuel, clothing, paper(Our Constitution is written on hemp)for rope and also it was used in building structures. This does not include all the medicinal purposes that they implemented it for. These journals also tell of them using it for recreation.
Marijuana/hemp did not become an issue until the 1930's when Harry Anslinger gave this testimony to Congress.."There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US,
and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers.
Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana usage.
This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations
with Negroes, entertainers and any others." by:
Harry J. Anslinger
(1892-1975) Assistant Prohibition Commissioner in the Bureau of Prohibition, first Commissioner of the Treasury Department's Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN)(1930-1962, 32 years), US Representative to the United Nations Narcotics Commission
Source: testimony to US Congress supporting Marihuana Tax Act, 1937...However, this didn't stop Anslinger, while acting as the Commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, to authorize a druggist near the White House to fill a morphine prescription for an addicted Senator Joseph McCarthy. Anslinger's campaign against marijuana had an hidden agenda, DuPont petrochemical interests and William Randolph Hearst together created the highly sensational anti-marijuana campaign (His gore files and "Reefer Madness") to eliminate hemp as an industrial competitor.
We have been fighting prohibition ever since... to date 15 States have legalized for medical use and California's Prop 19 comes up in November,to be voted upon on full legalization. The States that are legal for medical use already show that legalization does work. Look at the billions wasted on manpower, equipment, court time, judges, attorneys, bailiffs ,cost of incarceration and future court dates, stenographers, secretarie s,wardens, guards. Not to mention the feeding and care of prisoners who's only crime was possession of a plant. What a shame it is.
The proof is all out there that fully backs up all claims as to why Marijuana should be legal. The choice is Ours to let it be known what We want. An adult should be able to make the choice to use marijuana as a treatment for an illness or disorder and an adult should be able to choose to use marijuana for recreational purposes in their own home or designated areas. A Choice...not a Felony!!

Would you rather have this drug illegal and not get tax money. Or safe taxed marijuana legal? By not legalizing you are supporting drug cartels.
