look i have statistical proof that weed makes u smarter i received nothing but d on my report card ninth grade year tenth grade year i went to school high i was so mellowed out that i made sure i took time to read every test question every problem in depth does the normal tenth grader do that i think not now i am i lawyer and received my degree from harvard weed made me really focus on life i think it should be legal
It does not make you smarter. It only makes you think you are smarter. Actually that couldn't hurt. Take that "Harvard Degree" and use it to do something about legalizing
drugs. Nothing else has worked. Just fills the jails with people who should not be there.

Legalize. Otherwise keep spending millions on the narco teams trying to take down harmless weed dealers instead of harmful gun dealers and crack dealers.

marijuana is the root to many of the serious crimes. legalizing and controlling it will only make it harder for law enforcement to battle. Plus it has no value to the general population.

there was a time not so long ago when almost everything from clothes to ropes to papers and everything in between was made of hemp, marijuanna fibers. If I'm not mistaken farmers were ordered to grow it again, shortly after it was made illegal, to support the war effort, WWII, and soldiers in WWI were using even parachutes made from the stuff. To say it holds no value to society is ignorance. People need to take a look back through history and they can see for themselves who was responsible for giving it a bad rep, and illegalizing it. The motives are clear. Prohibition doesn't work.

Prohibition obviously isn't working but even if marijuana were legalized they should keep very strict guidelines about it's usage. Sheba mentioned a lot of good uses that can come from hemp. Using it in that way would be very benefital. However, if legalized, they should make it a lot like alcohol if you're smoking it. You shouldn't be allowed to drive or work under the influence and the punishment should be the same as alcohol. For anyone who says that they drive fine while high you're in denial. It's a proven fact that marijuana slows your response times and slows your brains ability to make quick judgements; two things that are vital to being a safe driver. The only way to make it legal SAFELY is to make sure that there are still strict guidelines for its sale and usage. They could also make it quiet expensive to buy and put a high tax on it. I see a lot of states are now doing that with cigarettes and many people are choosing to quit rather than continue smoking. Either way, people are always going to find a vice. Cigarettes, alcohol, weed, prescription pills, harder drugs... and I'm afraid that legalizing weed would increase the sales of other harder drugs. Drug dealers won't appreciate their "business" going under and they'll look for other ways of making money (like cocaine, crack, etc.) causing even more drug related crimes.

It can and hopefully soon will be marketed the same way we do alcohol. Quality control is important, but unfortunatly it will probably be loaded down with pesticides, preservatives and chemicles. It is perfect how it is. It is perfectly legal to brew your own wine, beer, and liquor at home for personal use, but I don't know anybody that does because the market is competitive with good quality products. I don't want to sell it, I don't want to buy it, I just want to smoke it, and maybe cook with it sometimes :) Grow America!
