understanding the elements of pot. (pot)makes most people calm,it has a healing effect on the deathly ill.most people smoking tabbacco would start smoking pot.farmers would have a new crop, cutting out the cartels and smugglers.i no longer smoke it,but i do understand the elements of it. peace be with all those who have been jailed or imprisoned for the use or sale of this 'God ' given element.

Marijuana is a natural plant that grows, is picked and then can be used recreationally or for many other reasons including medical. This is not a manufactured drug, it is a plant.

Marijuana is MUCH safer and less harmful than alcohol. There is no valid reason why Marijuana is illegal.

"Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

- Abraham Lincoln (1809-65) U.S. President (18 Dec. 1840, Illinois House of Representatives)

In a 2010 report by the Common Sense for Drug Policy Organization, the American annual causes of death were classified under the following categories:

Tobacco Related 430,700
Alcohol Related 110,640
Prescription Drugs 32,000
Suicide 30,575
Homicide 18,272
Drug Induced Deaths 16,926
NSAIDís (such as Aspirin) 7,600
Marijuana 0 deaths

Before you start to wonder about the veracity of the figures above, you should be aware that no one has ever been officially declared dead from direct or indirect marijuana consumption.

Marijuana was made illegal through the US Federal Government convincing citizens of the United States of lies about the medicinal plant, and fear mongering (Reefer Madness anyone?). The DEA is probably the most profitable arm of the US government, seeing as how they keep much/sometimes all of the money they find during their cowardly raids. If their intentions had the slightest inkling of honesty in regards to "protecting the citizens" they would go after the alcohol industry, which contributes to hundreds of thousands of deaths per year while I am still waiting for someone to overdose on marijuana. I'm sure the powerful lobbies had nothing to do with that though... ;) In the beginning drugs were made illegal because it was feared that slaves would get ahold of these drugs, develop superhuman powers and overthrow their slavemasters. Our drug laws are founded on racism, and it blows my mind Obama hasn't done more to stop it, seeing as how if he had gotten caught doing what he did he could very well kiss any hopes of presidency good bye.

yea....i love how they lie to us and say "it's for our protection".....where is our protection from tobacco??

tobacco kills more people every year than murder, illicit drug use, and suicide.....COMBINED.

didn't the federal govt not only prove, but won money from big tobacco for all the health issues it creates??....it should be illegal.....never happen because there are too many tobacco lobbyists that give a lot of money to senators, reps and other elected officials.

my biggest thing is, and while i do smoke....i would prefer that hemp be released from it's "prison"....industri al hemp has the potential to save the country's economy....there is no "high" to be gotten from it....almost anything that can be made from petro chemicals can be made from hemp....from food stocks to bio fuel...the amount of paper that is made from trees can be made from 1/6th the acreage of hemp.... it doesn't require pesticides that contaminate the water table as it is naturally pest resistant..and it IMPROVES the soil quality...

millions of jobs can be created with this....from manufacture, packaging, shipping, retail, not to mention new businesses that would be created......we currently have to import hemp based products to the tune of hundreds of millions.....hundreds of millions that we could be making here and reaping the profits ourselves.

but back in the day...there was industrial espionage that went on that made hemp illegal right along with marijuana.....petro chemical companies KNEW that hemp would be a big contender and pressed our govt to make it illegal along with mj.....

i just don't understand that with most of our leaders who say we need to "go green" and save the planet......why they ignore this safe replacement for many petroleum based products.....but we know that answer....there is no money for their pockets for saving us....but plenty to be had poisoning us...

You are not a 'Woman', and I may add, addicted to a career choice.
We're not interested in your 6th grade DARE presentations.
I do not condone teen age drug use of any kind, but most here are adults, and informed no less.
The continued use of 'illegal' exposes your 'blank' affiliation.

I sat and watched chickadees and the occasional red squirrel for hours on end not far from Effie. Now I know someone who shoots a Whitetail between the eyes.

The buck was staring from fifty yards. I felt he was disrespecting me. I dropped him with my Winchester 30-30 open sights. I donated the meat to the food shelf. I meet a red squirrel up north, tried to feed him, he bit my finger but he didn't break the skin. No harm no foul.

That battle will end up at the Supreme Court, hopefully they're not duped by the deviants as well.

New deck, cabin?
