I support the MEDICINAL legalization. The current federal ban doesn't allow doctors to prescribe medicinal Marijuana, but that's a political decision, not a medical one.

The only crime connected to pot is related to the illegality. Unlike meth, alcohol, and crack, it doesn't make people violent or unhealthy. It actually helps with many illnesses. Legalize it but keep the government out of it.

This stupid "war on drugs" is another of the failed relics of a bygone era. "War on poverty". "War on cancer". All the fake wars are just excuses to grow bureaucracies, but the worst is the failed war on drugs, where there's little moral difference between the government and the drug dealers.
If I can have a garden and grow my own vegetables, there's no logical reason I shouldn't also be able to grow a little sumpthin sumpthin on the side.
What will likely happen is the government will criminalize the growing of vegetables.
A lot of crime would disappear and money to drug cartels and terrorists would dry up if pot were legalized, but we can't have that.
Our government is mostly less than worthless and a force for mindless repression.

Alcohol and Tobacco account for the majority of health care spending. The drug war would be rendered moot, in terms of Marijuana instantly. Crime would drop, etc.. People have been fooled into believing it's more dangerous than Alcohol and Tobacco and nothing could be further from reality.

People with MS and other painful chronic diseases, as well as those who are suffering through chemotherapy and acutely terminal illnesses, have all benefited from using cannabis in various forms. Not all patients smoke it; vaporizing it and eating cannabis oil- infused goodies are other ways to get the therapeutic level of THC needed for pain relief. The real crime is that toxic, potentially deadly pharmaceuticals are legal to prescribe the sick patient, while relying on a home-grown remedy will get that same patient thrown in jail. A remedy that never *ever* in the history of mankind ever caused an overdose. Now that is truly the crime.

Eloquently said. It doesn't have to stay like this.
Our freedoms have mostly evaporated and have been arrogated by and to the State, but this is an issue all of us can at least bring to their attention, from Left to Right.
The government agencies and their spokesmen have no logical argument against a growing maddening populace telling them to quit their less than worthless repression against We the People.
Of course, the government will only clamp down on freedom of speech and dissent.
The government is in complete control of our formerly country, for now.
But it doesn't have to be like this.
These dirty worthless politicians are routinely fired all the time.

Are you assuming that everyone who uses cannabis is a pothead? I've known quite a few people who smoke it, and none of them are potheads. I have also known a lot of people who drink alcohol and none of them are gutter derelicts. Stereotyping is a cop-out.

I'd rather talk to someone who smokes pot and eats munchies in their mom's basement than with someone who feels inclined to post 15,000 nonsensical, anonymous comments on lame sites. And, since you didn't seem to notice, a lot of people with chronic illnesses are helped by using pot.

Would I like it to be legal? I don't use it, but honestly, I don't see why not.

Legal use would save us money in law enforcement, prosecution, and jail sentences, it make us money from taxes and fees, create a new industry with new jobs, create a boom in hemp-made products (a very renewable, biodegradable resource) and remove money from criminals.
I don't see a downside, really.

God, you are such a hypocrite! You post more nonsensical posts more then other other poster on this site. And since none of us don't know who anyone here really is, you are also posting anonymously on a "lame site". Get over yourself.

I've never heard someone say that they don't use marijuana because it is illegal. It is the largest cash crop in America, we might as well make some money off of it.

People with chronic illnesses such as myself with fibromyalgia. Would be better off dead than being a pothead. Pot is NOT useful for anything including use by cancer patients. Burnt braincells are worst than just going when it is your time.
