Nobody should lose their liberty or their livelihood over a plant that grows out of the ground.

Marijuana has more health and medicinal benefits than any pill, Creme, powder, or medicinal cocktail of chemicals in history. And it's natural, it's a plant, that grows from the ground not a lab, not a bathtub with poisons and acids. No one has or will die from consuming it. It's not a gateway drug and it doesn't kill brain cells. The "reefer madness" is a lie. What government pumps smoke into lab monkeys lungs and suffocates them just do they can say marijuana kills brain cells. Animal cruelty is illegal but we kill animals to try ad proof something harmless is dangerous? What's up with that? Cigarettes cause cancer and deformities and death but their still legal and they are addictive. Legalize marijuana if you want something done about stoping radioactive chemical soaked cigarettes instead of showing commercials of people who have been through hell and back because of cigarettes. What good is that going to do? Scare people out of their habit? Cancer patients have to live in pain because they don't want to die in jail for wanting to feel something besides pain. How selfish and cruel is that? Apprently Freedom cost more than your life. IT'S A PLANT!!! NOT A DRUG!!! it's sad when meth is a schedule 2 drug because it has sudafedrin in it. Bayer made heroin legal cuz it supposedly cured coughs and headaches. What's up with that? Cigarettes have 0 medicinal qualities but they are still around. They have uranium and 1000 different other chemicals sprayed onto the tobacco and if you want to think this country was founded on alcohol ad tobacco your wrong it was founded on hemp and cannabis. The deceleration of independence was written on hemp paper. Albert Einstein had cannabis in his system Steve jobs took a few hits and it helped him open his mind and create apple. It inspires people and opens their minds to look st things differently and more clearly. All of our founding father had cannabis crops. It was used for medicine and religious ceromonies 5000 years ago. Which if I remember correctly it was long before alcohol or modern medicine. If you want to attack it from a religious angle good luck because marijuana is older than Christianity in fact the first printed bible was printed on you guessed it, HEMP paper. You can eat it, smoke it, extract it, use it as textiles, clothing, medicine, therapy, relaxation, meditation, but you can't grow it? It just doesnt make sense so how about we stop the " war on drugs" which we all know is just war on cannabis and focus on the ones we know kill and effect lives like meth and all the other ones. Case closed.

I work a full time job and never miss a day. I wouldn't be able to make it without smoking. I wish I didn't have to hide it.

If poison ivy, coal smoke, and rabbit baccer is legal to possess and consume then cannabis should be also.

...as stated earlier, it is perfectly legal to ingest poison ivy. Our government is o.k. with it.

Crack cocaine is made from coca leaves, that grow from earth in Columbia and Bolivia. Using your logic, should we llegalize it too?

crack cocaine grows out of the ground? I thought it needed to be made by man. Crack also kills. Name me one person that has died from the direct use of cannabis...

It's a given that the addict WILL lie to self to make h-- addiction feel more ok. Want truth? Ask your doc. S/he'll say, marijuana does exacerbate lung dysfunction, preventing proper function of alveoli, other lung tissues, reduces lung function.

Better yet, get permission to sit in on a cadaver examination, view a lung of a deceased who used marijuana 'socially'.

who said you have to smoke cannabis? Vaporizers/edibles are the way to go. Also, I have yet to hear or know of anyone who got lung cancer from cannabis use. My Dr. and I have had this conversation. It has never happened....

I believe that Liquor has more of a negative impact on our lives and society and yet it's legal, we would make and save more tax money on legalizing it, instead of wasting our tax dollars on a losing battle
