How many persons do you know who go out and drink then go home and beat the crap out of their family members compared to a person who smoke marijuana? How many traffic deaths are from alcohol, etc. Alcohol should be illegal.
They tried that in the 1920's. It was called Prohabition. If that had actually worked alcohol would still be illegal in all 50 states. There are still some "Dry" counties and states, but that is about it.

It can't be any good for your lungs by smoking it. Maybe it would be okay by tea or cook it like spinach and eat it? Or maybe in a salad? I don't know. Seems all the evidence puts it in as a minor bother to have such heavy handed prohibitions on it. I don't think people should be made into criminals for using it. And if it brings comfort to deny it from people that are sick, when they don't have the means for expensive pharmaceutical drugs, is a greater crime against humanity.

It was introduced to society as a project to see what medical purposes can be produced of it, When then was achieved by the lab experiment long time ago, it was then CLASSFIED ILLEGAL when they had their medical professionals tell what problems it does to the body.
MOST NORAML people get it form their medical PROFESSIONAL it is either cmoked or pill form but it is almost 100% pure qualtiy an dperscribed for purposes only. SOme times heart and reality(chamber of the mind) needs to be switched. Sometimes VETERANS to keep them on medicated speed of what happened in the wars. AND sometimes DRUG ADDICTS to equalise system and slowy ween off the medicine when reality in moral again.
IF you did NOT know this your a DRUG ADDICT and should check yourslef into the nearest hospital for HELP!
the reason why marijuana is illegal is that Dow and dupont didnt want any competition from the traditional source of industrial fiber, HEMP. the really really dreaded counsin of marijuana.

it is only dreaded by those who have large interests in synthetic, chemicals and alcohol producing companies. not to mention the powerful pharma Lobby.

Pot itself is much lighter than alcohol, so the prohibition of it obviously MUST have NOTHING to do with PUBLIC saftey.

these lobbies are sooooooooo powerful that i dont give the legalization of pot (by the feds) much hope while amercica is in this heavily corporate era.

It's obvious. Legalization will benefit the people and communities while prohibition harms so many.

I have family members suffering. People are in pain here in Wisconsin and the republican party sits on their hands. As it stands now if you are taking pain medication and you smoke marijuana to help get an appetite because you're dying of cancer or trying to fight cancer. Then they could and have taken people's pain medication away for using it. Now the sick person has to detox off a very powerful medication. It makes me sick to see people I love hurting so much and the people they voted for just sitting on their hands. Some people are considering leaving the state they grew up in and love. Get off your hands and do the right thing, enough is enough already. Some people don't have time to wait for you. God forbid we would have to walk a mile in their shoes.

I was reading everyone's posts. I am in awe at some of them. I was taught in school I lived in free country. As I got older it was plain to see I am not free. Asking for permission for almost everything is not freedom. The person that talked about Dow and DuPont was spot on. The cotton industry is to blame for the prohibition on pot. The point I would like to make is this the so called college student that spoke of drugs changing a person's DNA this question is for you. Do you believe you live in a free country. Are you sure the books you read in college are truth and not just more propaganda put out there by the DuPont and Dow. Reefer madness the movie comes to mind when I think of propaganda against marijuana. Marijuana has been surrounded with propaganda since the cotton industry started it's war on pot. Personally I thought the university's were teaching the future of America to think for themselves. I'm glad I had a teacher in high school that enforced independent thought. It allows me to form my own opinion about life and look at all information with a open mind. Stop marching to the beat and dance to the song of life. DNA changes over time weather you eat peas or carrots. It's called... Evolution. Grow up. think for yourself and live in true freedom.

I don't want it legal. That way the police can use it as an excuse to harass maxicans.

I hope it isn't legalized too so police can continue to use it as an excuse to harass mexicans and put them in jail.
