You don't need to have three masters degrees to know that pot poses far more serious risks for some people (particularly teens, pregnant women, and heavy users) than for others. And each is a risk that can be easily avoided.

Effects of alcohol are worse than marijuana yet alcohol is legal. Research. Know facts. Educate yourselves. Marijuana should be legalized and taxed as alcohol is.

I have a son and granddaughter who support this. I do not. A son started out on marijuana, went on to the really bad stuff, and finally spent time in the pen for that. Guess I've got a bad taste in my mouth because it destroyed one family, caused much hurt to parents and kin, and financially broke grandparents who gave money to him, never knowing why. We learned about that years later. It was a devastating step that changed lives forever.

i dont think it should been legi- because although ppl havent killd other ppl driving high off their ass. its still effects ppl. like i read in the newyork paper on the internet this guy raped his own lil sister, and he said he didnt mknow wut he was doinn cuz he was high on marijuana. so even though its not 100% like other drugs or alco, it effect ppl even tha littiest. what if it hapnd to u and they didnt do anything to the persoon jus because weed is legal. then ur gona be sayn "they should of never legalized it. they should'nt legalize it jus so these dum ass potheads can get high and not get in trouble. DON'T LEGALIZE MARIJUANA.
That guy raped his little sister because he had a piss poor upbringing. He only blamed it on pot because, like too many other people, he refused to take accountability for his actions. Love makes people do lots of stupid things including, but not limited to, killing. We should outlaw love now too? What about cell phones? They have been involved in numerous fatal accidents. Stupid, unethical, and immoral people will do stupid, unethical, immoral things regardless of the laws. Legalizing marijuana is not so much about condoning the use, but controlling the environment in which it is obtained. There are dumbasses all over. No law is going to change that.

Yes, but how can you say the pot didn't loosen his inhibitions? It does.

That is your perception. There are no excuses for poor behaviour. The problem in this country is not what is legal and what is not. The problem is that nobody wants tho be held accountable for anything they do and nobody wants to hold them accountable. We just blame everything on pot, booze, the neighborhood, etc... The blame for socially unacceptable behaviour lies solely with the perpetrator of said behaviour. Individuals make the choice, individuals should be held accountable. Blaming everything but the human for the human actions is ridiculous. Alcohol loosens your inhibitions, pot contributes to your ability to focus, even if you are content to focus on nothing. Neither of these drugs or anything else for that matter, gives anyone an excuse to do something immoral or unethical.

Illegal drugs are ruining this country and mexico as well. Making drugs legal would put drug dealers/cartels out of business and provide a sources of revenue for the government. Drug users are going to get drugs anyway so we might as well tax it and stop the drug violence.

Are you also proud to support the murder of thousands in Mexico and the U.S? Maybe a high I.Q., but no common sense or moral values.

They use it in medicine, first of all. HELLO! That should be a good enough reason in itself. Number two, it would be a major crop that our country could use as an export. This country needs money. Plus, the entire nation needs to get off of their Prozac and other zombie medications. People can die from taking too much of the stuff that is supposed to make you feel better. Why die when you could kill pain with one joint? There are a million other reasons, but I am done for now.
