If it had not been for W.H. Hearst, we'd have legal marijuana. He wanted wood pulp for his papers operation, it deemed it cheaper than Hemp paper, used at the time.

Marijuana, despite the arguments of uneducated laymen, is a dangerous drug. Legalization will only encourage its use and lead to additional social, legal and health related problems. I speak both as a professional in the medical field as well as a legal expert.

A lot of people here are in pain due to weather changes(rain, cold, snow)and people who have cancer and other illness are in pain and Marijuana acts as a pain killer.

I oppose because legitimizing it will increase use and therefore health problems in society.

I have come across enough potheads to know that society wise any good this crap gives is far outweighed by its negatives. No one who doesn't use it advocates its use.

lol...So what you're saying is, everyone who has used it advocates its use and the only ones against it are the ones who haven't tried it?

I believe you mean W.R. Hearst, as in William Randolph.

First off, during times of alcohol prohibition there were more people doing crazier shit in order to try to get their drink on. Legalizing alcohol allowed it to be controlled and regulated. Doing so with cannabis, the government would be able to process the plant matter to make medicines for mankind. Secondly, the negatives of cannabis use when compared with that of other painkillers, sleep aid, and appetite enhancers are slight. And to use your own sense of thinking against you, no one who uses it advocates it disuse.

Apparantly it doesn't help your intelligence or spelling though.

Bad spelling and grammar are a result of an educational system that doesn't educate. I suggest it was probably a school full of unionized teachers.
Use or not of marijuana does not dictate one's level of education.
