Alot of people say that marjuana is a gate way drug. But alchohol causes agression, marijuana does not, alchohol causes kidney damage, depression, and many other troubles, then look at ciggarettes, and how many people die fromthat and they all know it.but yet the government allows citizens to buy both of these substances without blinking an eye.I would like to see someone show me real evidence of a comparison to how many confirmed deaths that are caused by each of these 3 products,by both health and traffic,or from agressive behavior.I bet marijuana would even be a spec on the results.a quick example how many people have crashed there cars into a store to steal 1,000's of packs of ciggaretts.

You rather have drunken fools running around and getting in cars and killing tens of thousands of people,or continue having a cancer ridden society of ciggarett smokers. In which both are a very real part in our outrages heath care issues.Do some real research before you make stupid anologies expecially when you have never even tried it.I am sure you have smoked ciggs or drank alchohol.Send in your results of all the heath risks, for each individual substance.I bet being a little lazy sometimes is still going to be your only statement on marijuana..Oh and not all marijuana does not make you tired or lazy,it has to do with different strains and trichlones(probably spelt wrong).Like I said get your fact and priorities staight..

Jamacia residents have used large amounts of marijuana for over 50 years with no ill effects. The largest and longest study ever done on pot made Ronald REAGON change his mind about pot and he said it is a waste of money inforcing pot laws. I have used it every day scince I was 16. I have a masters degree and trade 4.1 million dollars of my own money . I grew up poor. My son is rated one of the top M.D.s in the country and I know tons of people who used all thier life and they are rich on thier own business or profesions. Chew on that church lady!

Thank you, sir!!! Like I have been saying people need to wake up,and realize that ciggs, and alchohl, are the real gate way drugs, and the biggest negative effect on our health industry. And everyone that talks bad about marijuana, have done absolutly nothing in research on it,or compaired actual harm, including car accident deaths, agressive behavior, and family abuse,etc.. I could go on and on.I just wish people would get their facts straight before opening their mouths. They would rather see asociety of agressive, cancer ridden people, instead of calm, loving people, with open minds..

If by effects on the brain, you mean kill brain cells, then you are wrong. This based on research done during the second Reefer Madness Movement. The study, however, was poorly performed and produced inaccurate results.

The study was performed by counting the number of brain cells in a dead monkeys brain, and taking the average of that and compared it to the average of monkeys who they gave marijuana. The problem is though, the monkeys they tested on were pumped with an extreme amount of smoke down their throat, to the point where they actually suffocated. Do you know what happens when your body can't get oxygen to your brain? Brain cells are killed.

Recent studies have found that marijuana is actually a neuro-protector, and protects nerves and brain cells.

I will admit that it does make people less ambitioned, and it can become a habit. But the (very few) cons of marijuana out weigh alcohol by a long shot. I personally think it would be better if all alcoholics became potheads instead. Alcohol actually does damage your body, destorys you liver, can make you agressive while intoxicated (when was the last time you saw a story in the news about somebody who got so baked they went home and beat their wife and kids?), and impairs your driving (unlike marijuana, in which studies have indicated that drivers under the influence of marijuana drive SAFER than they do sober).

So to answer your question: No Suzanne, we have not forgotten. We have just learned the truth. I hope one day you will take the time to research some thing yourself as opposed to accepting everything the government tells you as fact.

Support but it is a bigger question. I support to take the revenue which is extreme in Kailua out of the hands of the criminals and enable the state to collect much needed taxes on such items. If we are going to have weed slow down the minds of some students lets let the tax revenue much improve the school system for the students who want to do themselves, their families, and their state proud. I'm tired of people blaming our kids in my 20+ years of leadership the problem resides at the top. Lets tax and spend money collected from such sells and be proud that the best schools in the nation are being funded by the most laid back people in the state. I think they would be proud of such a thing if they could do it freely and legally. There might be some dealers a little hurt but if they are smart they will just transition into legal sells as the Kennedy's did with alcohol which is much more dangerous. I don't agree with it but it is there, not going away, so lets use it.

All these problems people mention about legalizing weed are already there don't be a fool or try to hide the truth lets be honest and address it. Yes there are a lot of kids and adults who do weed and a lot who do not. Doing weed doesn't mean a kid is going to be a bad student I know of a multitude of kids who graduated with 4.0 GPAs and have fine jobs now and still smoke it, President Clinton Smoked it and I'm sure many others so that conversation is sort of mute to me. Us having more disabled drivers on the road...wake up they are already out there but now we can tax the substance to help improve our schools and pay for law enforcement to protect us against such drivers; it is all common sense. This would also help clean up some of our law enforcement that tend to look the other way due to taking money for their service or just having a family member involved. People lets be honest. There is a lot of things that blow brain cells, working out to hard, taking too many supplements, you get the drift even the so called healthy things so lets look at all the facts and stop playing the moral game and start playing the smart business game because government is a business and should be treated as such. I seen many "lolo" people that don't smoke any pot and don't drink wine so please don't put all in one basquet. Mariyuana makes a wonderful oil - try it including other valuable products can be produced from this exceptional plant that is growing for a reason - are we judging the Creator's ability to create?? I fully support the legalization and de-criminalization. I hope our new Governor is supporting the effort as soon he takes office in 2011.

Hey Tom, how's it going? Not sure if you'll get this reply but my family and I are planning to travel to Kona in March/April of 2011 and I would love to sample a bit of the homegrown I know they grow over there. My brother and I are the only ones that smoke (we're both in our 30's) and I think the trip would be that much more special if we could get our hands on some. Money is no object. Can you help? Email me at travisugg@yahoo.com

There has to be somewhere in the USA where a sensible and less aggressive life style is respected. Le Herb opens the users mind to alternatives to the crazy cut throat cultural values that are espoused by he main stream. Viva la difference!
