I thought we've came to the conclusion that is not proven,I'll admit it is a gateway to junk food.

One of the problems that the marijuana reform movement consistently faces is that everyone wants to talk about what marijuana does, but no one ever wants to look at what marijuana prohibition does.

Marijuana never kicks down your door in the middle of the night and puts a fully loaded assault rifle in your face. Marijuana never locks up sick and dying people in cages with rapist and murders. Marijuana does not suppress medical research. Marijuana does not peek in bedroom windows. Marijuana does not take away kids scholarships.

Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could.

The drug cartels are getting richer ,more than 80% of their revenue comes from illegal marijuana sales. I say leagalize and take their income and in turn some power. I like this view on the subject.

Looks like legalization of pot causes bigger problems now.......

Colorado Schoolkids Are Getting Higher Than Ever Following Pot Legalization........

Also read an article that stated that the Governor of Colorado said that the State is maybe at best breaking even with the legalization of pot...Does not look like the "pot" of Gold at the end of the Rainbow...Pardon the pun...Wait now for the state having to arrest people for driving under the influence, and maybe rehabs for some of them, and see if there really is money to be had in legalization of pot..We will see.

MJ has been proven not to be a gateway drug. those who step up to higher levels of drug abuse are usually the ones who have been exposed to it in the immediate family (wich we all know is allmost everyone around here) Its also been proven that peanuts are more dangerous with peanuts anually killing 100~ poeple and MJ killing a whopping 0..( http://9gag.com/gag/1765702 )In an article I read while doing research for a paper, A quadroplegic (one who is parylyzed from the waste down, smoked MJ daily to help with pain and complications he stated "If it werent for this plant, I honestly belive the pain would have killed me." Another in the same article suffered from 3 types of cancer, and used MJ daily stating "it increased blood flow, appitie and creativity." Even in nov. 2009 the AMA(American Medical Assosiation)adopted a new policy claiming that "Marijuana should be completely revised as a schedual I controlled substance, as it presents no serious health issues and has great medicinal purposes" And to bring up another point MJ has never had a reported overdose nor has it had any accidents that can link directly to MJ usage. As far as I see it MJ has a damn clean record and its just waiting for its time to shine. Also, Various medical sites I read on reported that its "an unsung hero that has been around as long as history has been recorded surrounded by controversy" and with that, Im out..

As soon as prohibition ended everyone got drunk, give it time and it will level off.

Its only been legal for a few months now, how can you show a profit in such a short time?

That's true. Someone once mentioned poison ivy in the same context to me but they forget that God didn't say it was for consumption like He specifically did with herbs. Look over them, they are just not being honest in the conversation.

Not dangerous???

Marijuana use is much more dangerous than believed and hundreds of young people die each year in "accidents" caused by their prolonged use of the drug, according to Britain's most senior coroner.

Hamish Turner, the president of the Coroners' Society, told The Telegraph that the marijuana, often portrayed as harmless, has increasingly been the cause of deaths that have been reported as accidents or suicides.

"Cannabis is as dangerous as any other drug and people must understand that it kills," said Mr Turner. "From my long experience I can say that it is a very dangerous substance. Increasingly it is mentioned not only as the first drug taken by people who overdose, but also in suicides and accidental deaths.

"It is an awful waste of young lives. People are trying the drug at a very young age. Many go on to harder drugs and I am dealing with more and more heroin overdoses. People can also suffer severe consequences from the cannabis alone, however.

"Bereaved parents say to me,'We didn't realise how dangerous it was until it was too late, if only we had done something'. It is heartbreaking."

Turner said that stronger varieties of cannabis are now common, leading to physical and mental problems in young people, compared to the pot that was available in the 1960s.

Driving after smoking even a small amount of marijuana almost doubles the risk of a fatal highway accident, according to an extensive study of 10,748 drivers involved in fatal crashes between 2001 and 2003.

http://alcoholism.about.com/od/pot/a/pot_driv...

Dec. 1, 2005 - People who drive after using marijuana are nearly twice as likely to be involved in a fatal car crash.

French researchers studied all drivers involved in fatal car crashes over a two-year period and found 7% tested positive for marijuana, including nearly 3% who tested positive for a combination of marijuana and alcohol.

Although marijuana's share of fatal crashes is much lower than those attributed to alcohol, researchers say the results show that marijuana use, even in low doses, significantly increases the risk of fatal car accidents.

Marijuana has around 10,000 years of documented medical use. Common sense on this issue is in short supply I guess.

God gave us intelligence for a reason.
