It is less toxic to the human body than many of the legal painkillers, does not induce it's users to go out and commit crimes like other "street" drugs being used to "self-medicate" or alcohol. Taxes would bring in added revenue.

The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12)

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.(Genesis 1:29-31)

The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29)

A healing plant. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.(Revelations 22:1-2) A gift from God.

I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs. For afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches." (Isaiah 18:4-5)

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man and oil to make his face to shineth.(Psalm 104:14-15)

all drugs are not as harmless as weed. not only could we charge taxes on it but the actual plant is useful also. it can be made to make paper, jewlery, soap, lotion, shampoo and clothing among many other uses. not only will it help the economy, it will also help the environment. if we are able to make paper out of it it would lead to less forests being cut down therefore supplying our earth with more oxygen and may repair part of the ozone layer. it may take years but it's possible. hemp has been used for centuries. only recently that it's become illegal has it become less commercial.

I once asked a former crack addict how he ever got himself to drive a needle into his arm and risk his entire life. He told me it wasn't like that when he started. In the beginning it was fun. He smoked pot and had a great time. The problem was that the fun soon ended and misery took its place.

Once he was addicted, he'd do anything to get high. It wasn't for fun anymore. Now it was survival.

Why didn't he just quit drugs? Because he couldn't! The demons wouldn't let him. They had sucked him in slowly wrapped the noose around his neck. Now they had him. His hopes for the future were gone! His career dreams. Gone! His Happiness. Gone! His mind. Gone! Everything Gone!

How those demons must have laugh years ago when this poor man promised himself that he would nevr take anything stronger than pot. He had no idea what he was playing with. And he sure didn't know that he was racing head-long down a carefully planned pathway to hell.

The only thing you have defeated is what you might possibly have achieved in life had you just said "no" to drugs. That place in life is long gone. You could've had a job and not been such a huge cost to us tax payers to support you and people like you. You could be doing anything besides sitting behind a computer thinking that pot is cool. Grow your ass up and get a job.

well i think pot is no different than going to the doctor and getting nerve pills or anti-depressants and the doctor is making money for the office visit and the pharmacy is making money for the prescription so i'll just save myself some money and take a couple of hits and i'm good to go , and in a very happy mood too!!!!!!!
