who would you raither meet on the road? a drunk driver going fast, or a pot smoker going slow. keep ower land taxes down, rise pot taxes. they tax every thing else any way, they are going to get you one way or another. one is as bad as another, so go for it.

I don't think it should be legallized and I don't agree with your logic. Just because the authorities are not keeping it under control or to keep taxes low is no reason to say something is ok that isn't. What's next? crack?

Just as the ban on liquors (the eighteenth amendment) was found to be unconstitutional, this ban on marijuana is also unconstitutional. Check the ninth amendment.

The people who choose to use marijuana are entitled to use their personal freedom to do so.

I personally think all drugs should remain illegal. I don't want to run into anyone on the streets, high or drunk it doesn't matter. I don't want my kids to be able to buy marijuana at the TigerMarket though. I just assume it stay illegal

Educate your kids about marijuana. If you don't want them to use it say so. I seriously doubt anyone at any place that sells it would sell it to any minor. It would be like beer or any other alcoholic beverage, id would be required to purchase it.

You still have youth with fake ID's that buy beer and cigarettes, or clerks that don't bother to card. I worked in a bar for many years. I ahd an ABC lescense. I saw it all the time. There are people that don't care. You can educate all you want but when they are teens and out with their friends and their friends offer it... Jsut like anything else. Most, not all, but most kids will be willing to try it if all their friends are doing it. I try very hard to educate my kids but the fact that it is "illegal" may deter some kids from even trying it. "illegal for my age" and "illegal" are two different things. knowing a slap on the wrist for drinking a beer underage isnot a deterence. Look how many teens are drinking now. It's at an all time high. Knowing they could do jail time or worse for smoking dope I think is what keeps it more under control. It's illegal for a reason. It should stay that was I think.

I think you do not have an idea of how many people smoke pot. When I was a child, I thought pot was horrible. That is what they taught in D.A.R.E . I was pissed when I found it.
When I was a teenager, I tried it. It is not that bad! It is a hell of a lot better than alcohol. I still had all of my bodily/mind functions working properly. The only terrible thing I can remember was driving home thinking I was going waaaay to fast, but I was doing ten miles under the speed limit.
Nowe that I am in my 20's I know so many people that smoke weed. I know people from ALL backgrounds, financial tiers, educations, family status, and employments. I think you know more people that function while smoking pot than you realize.

I do know many people that smoke it and you can tell they do. When I was in my 20's i thought I knew everything myself, but then yes belive it or not some people actually do grow up and then this will cause you to have a different outlook on life good and bad. If you got it smoke it!!! Thank god for background checks and piss test.

Amen. The thing is about pot.. People think it doesn't effect your judgement butit does. Your reaction time is slower, just like you say driving so slow. Your mind processes thing so slowly much like alcohol. They are both depressants. Thing about pot is that if you smoke it(as of now anyways) and get in a car and get pulled over, they can't test you to see if your stoned on sight like they can with alcohol so alot of accidents are probably caused due to people being high and slow reaction time but since you can't prove it unless they haul you in for a drug test then they are going unreported. I am personally thankful to work for a company that drugtests. I work in a dangerous industry and I need to be able to trust the people I work with.

Haha, I never said I knew everything. I like to be educated on issues, and why people feel a certain way. I understand we all perceive life differently, and we may never come to a full agreement.
I vote yes; AT LEAST for medicinal purposes. The way I see it, people are going to purchase marijuana either way; why not create a legal market for a product in demand?

BTW I have tried pot a few times, but I do not smoke it on a regular basis.
