Government should limit itself to protection of the public. Many law enforcement officials are the biggest dealers in Sevier County. Sheriff Seals leading amoung those who proffit from pot being illegal.

Maybe legalization is not the answer.....but I think decriminalizing would be the better answer. I just don't see sending people to prison for years on end, for smoking a weed pulled out of the ground. This country is spending BILLIONS fighting an unwinable war, and housing and feeding people for simply smoking weed. Sending a mon or dad to prison for five years and tearing up a family certainly isn't the answer. Write citations and levy fines, if they have the money to buy pot then they have money for fines. Let the local governments acquire some funds from offenders. Instead of wasting resources of local law enforcement and the courts. SMOKE A JOINT...GET CAUGHT...PAY YOUR FINE, AND GO ABOUT YOUR WAY!!!
Some say pot is a "gateway drug"....I say BS! The people who turn to harder drugs have a personality that is going to lead them down those paths anyway. They don't need weed to start their decent. I'm in my fiftys and know, and have know people who smoke weed for years and have never had any intrerest in hard drugs.

MARIJUANA DOES NOT DESTROY LIVES...COKE, CRACK, METH, PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE, AND HERION DESTROYS LIVES!!
