It is just plain stupid that it is not already legal. Look at alcohol and prohibition. It didn’t work! I don't recommend everyone start smoking it every day or in excess just as I wouldn't recommend people drink in excess. But come on. Our cops need to be chasing the “real” bad people. And we need to quit making Mexican drug gangs rich and powerful. And look at all the positive stress reliving effects of a little smoke. We could use some stress relief in our society that comes from something natural. We don’t need more manmade pharmaceuticals that we find out after the fact how harmful they are.

Would put a huge dent to the Cartels drug smuggling operations from mexico to U.S.....help sick patients in need...and taxing it would help our economy!

Would prevent a lot of crimes that are caused by it being illegal, also they can put a tax on it. It could help benefit the states and cities.

Prohibition did not work, does not work, will not work. Tax the living daylights out of it like cigarettes and give the cops something more productive to do.

I don't have a dog in the fight on this one except to say that the reason for the drug war is not even close to what is being given to us by the government. But is that surprising?

The gateway effect is explained by the fact that you have to go to a shady dude in the alley who also deals in much harder drugs and are thereby exposed to those harder drugs. Whereas if it were legal you wouldn't be inundated with any of that.

Hemp is also our future, or it should be. It can be used to make plastics, fabrics, fuels, food, paper, and tons of other stuff. In addition, planting it would reverse the The Greenhouse Effect over time. Come on!

Is a waste of money to be arresting people for this. Focus on real crime like homicides and theft.

it is stupid spending tax dollars to fight something that is a similar casual thing to consume as alcohol.we should have it at the beer store and the government making tax dollars on the sale.

It could bring money into the local gov't through taxes, help businesses through increased tourism, and decrease prison population by decriminalizing it. It costs $22,000 a yr to keep one inmate locked up. It would also create jobs.
