It's relatively harmless and banning it only helps organized crime.

Legal use would actually reduce the overall useage, unclog the court system of petty non-violent revenue generating cases and allow the local piss-poor run city and county gooberment to collect more taxes.

Six teenagers were killed while picking up trash near Las Vegas in 2000. The driver was smoking pot, fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into six teenager, killing them all.

Why not?!?! Less dangerous than alcohol. The states just don't want to lose all that revenue from DUI's.

Marijuana in recent years has been shown to be greatly more beneficial than what has been assumed in the past. Recent studies have shown that marijuana is beneficial in fighting certain diseases, shrinking tumors, calming nerves and anxiety, and it can even increase lung capacity over nonsmokers. Not to mention the economical significance of a new cash crop that's easier to grow than every other crop. It's time to end marijuana prohibition and that starts with the people.

Although you are 100% correct in this statement, this is the first account I have heard of a high driver killing anyone in their car. Of course, I know it has and will happen again, but by using this example shows how less harmful driving under the influence of marijuana is compared to other things. Commercial truck drivers account for 4,000 deaths a year. Drunk driving can be expected to be the cause of death for 11,000 people this year. The same studies stated that the number of deaths due to high drivers was under 100 deaths per year. By maintaining it's Schedule 1 status due to reasons like this are completely ridiculous. I've heard a joke about the difference between drunk drivers and high drivers. Drunk drivers blow through stop signs, high drivers wait for them to turn green.

Nothing wrong with weed. I honestly drive better high. Makes me more alert. Would make a lot of money for the Gov't if taxed. Compared to tobacco and alcohol weed is a pea shooter the later is an AA-12 shotgun.
