The ban on marijuana was a made up issue by the yellow press headed by William Randolph Hearst cuz he was mad at Mexico for taking away some of his forest land. Also hemp is cheaper than paper so WRH wouldn't be making a ton of money. Make it legal tax the hell out of it, think of the money we'd make on taxes, and the savings for not jailing people at $40K a year for pot. It wouldn't be a "gateway" then either cuz you'd be getting it from honest establishment, not from some guy on a corner who has no qualms about lacing it

It's a lot less potent than alcohol! Was even legal at one time! No one can overdose, and more people wouldn't have so much stress!!
