The potential for abuse does not justify a ban.

Anyone could use a hammer to hit himself in the face with, that doesn't mean hammers should be illegal.

I think it should be legal, but not all out legal. I don't think that letting Walmart import it by the boat load from the Phillipines would be good for America. I like California's prop 19 that would let growers have up to 25 sq. ft. Which would be a little more than a 4'X6' area. If they made people buy a permit they could take use that money to fund an anti-meth campaign.
Either that or let the state grow it and sell it through state run dispensaries and let the profits go into the state budget were they could lower taxes and college tuition for everyone.

In 1972 when the gov. was creating the Controlled substance act they set up the "National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse". Also known as the Shafer Commission. You might what to read about it. They said "Neither the marijuana user nor the drug itself can be said to constitute a danger to public safety". Then they recommended "Decriminalization of possession of marijuana for personal use on both the state and federal levels". Of course President Nixon wasn't to thrilled about the idea. A reporter by the name Doug McVay went to the National archives to hear recordings of Nixon talking about the commission's results. Apperently he blamed the Jews for trying to destroy America in the same way they destoyed the Roman Empire. Here are a couple of quotes.
"I see another thing in the news summary this morning about it. That's a funny thing, every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana is Jewish. What the Christ is the matter with the Jews, Bob, what is the matter with them? I suppose it's because most of them are psychiatrists".

"You see, homosexuality, dope, immorality in general. These are the enemies of strong societies. That's why the Communists and the left-wingers are pushing the stuff, they're trying to destroy us".

"At least with liquor I don't lose motivation".

The funny thing is that most of the people in the Shafer Commission were right wingers put there by Nixon himself. Raymond Shafer was a Republican Governer from Pennsylvania. Who was an Eagle scout and the son of a Reverend.

Theres nothing wrong with smoking. ALOT of people thta I know here in Fargo, ande Moorhead smoke. There are alot of other things to do that are worst and that are addicting, at least when someone smokes they can say ok i think im going to stop for a bit. Alcohol is waaayyy worst, people die everday weather its from drinkin and driving and gettin in a car crash or they get into a fight and something bad happens they end up in the hospital with stabs or shot or dead. I say go for it Legalize IT!!!!!!!!

A plant with so many hundreds of uses would boost the tax base by bringing billions of underground dollars above ground. common sense.

Its the choice of the person to do what makes them happy as long as they are not negatively affecting the ability of a third party to exercise THEIR rights.

Def keep it private...I like the regulatemarijuanalikewine.org website as well, a very good way to go about handling the issue really. What the federal government needs to do is reclassify to a Schedule 3 and we wouldn't be having this conversation on a national level.

Marijuana is not nearly as harmful as ANY other drug and its absolutely that a harmless drug that has not killed ANYONE should be kept illegal while the number of people perscription drugs and alchohol have killed is absolutely STAGGERING!

I saw a report of high power "new" weed in the area. This is new/news, tards it has been around for 20yrs hydro/kind/KGB back then. But, rason for posting is I noticed a blurb at the end of report~HEROIN is also on the increase. end, less than 10 words! are they f*cking whacked!! I was curious on how much/how many bust as I recall years back a 3oz bust of 90% pure!! At that time, I could only imagine how much $ this bust was-they obviously did not know (usually 15-25% pure @$50. per 1/10 gram do the math) Anyway, curiousity found not much news BUT a treatment center for heroin. I noticed then it was ranked #9 OUT OF 38!!!!!!yup 38 Heroin treatment centers in fargo! Dealers are simply not caught-my guess why? average user 35-45 yrs old caucasion who works, clean cut,ect-when you look like a criminal-busted if you do not, another story.
New Start Recovery Centers is rated #nine out of thirty-eight Heroin Rehabilitation centers in Fargo, ND.
