I don't see how alcohol, a much more dangerous drug, is legal and marijuana isn't.

I don't believe Americans need to sanction weed (marijuana) anymore than we sanction any other recreational street drugs among folks. It is wrong and irresponsible mentality and behaviors, period. Plus, people who do drugs contribute to deformities; diseases; and mental illness in/of their own children. It's just not worth it. I'm against all types of leisure drugs, altogether.

Well that's your opinion, prohibition doesn't work and what are these mental illnesses you speak of? sounds like you are very uneducated on the effects of marijuana as many of the "legal" drugs you purchase over the counter are far more harm full than marijuana. If people want to use marijuana, they are going to use marijuana no matter what so why no make int legal? As long as its illegal all we are doing is funding the criminals who put it on our streets. If marijuana was legal we can tax it and control it. Marijuana is one of the safest medications one could prescribe perhaps you should read up a little more on the facts before you post. Thats the problem, marijuana has been given such a bad reputation over the years and has been "labeled as harmful" when in reality its a very safe substance. Its like the game you play in school called telephone. One person gives a description and as it is passed down the line of people through word of mouth, the facts get skewed and people cant even separate fact from fiction. I suggest you look more into the effects of marijuana before you go saying how "deformities; diseases; and mental illness" Show me one case where that statement hold any water whatsoever.. but its funny.. you can take 10 asprin and that will be your last headache and you can have severe long term effects from most legal medications, show me one case where marijuana effect you physically or mentally. People have it all hyped up to be such a bad thing, caffine is more dangerous and don't go telling me about the effects on your lungs from smoking it because there is other ways to use this substance without smoking it..

Infact I think it is absurd that you can even fit marijuana into the category of "people who do drugs". I don't even consider marijuana as a harmful drug in the least.

Marijuana is a drug that is respossible for many people lives. People that use Marijuana are often in other illegal activities, like gangs or robberys. People that use marijuana while driving are at a much higher risk to get into an accident. All in all a very bad idea.
