Too much money and effort is wasted on prosecuting and jailing marijuana offenders. Would also be a tremendous source of tax revenue for local and federal govt's.

I find that a very pragmatic point of view. Aside from the short term economic benefits, marijuana has nothing to offer society but another vice to hide in. If we endorse marijuana, it will have long term ramifications as we have seen with tobacco. The cost of prohibition is high, but the opportunity cost of legalization is higher. I mean, can you even imagine trying to convince your children away from the stuff knowing you voted to legalize it? The arguments in favor of legalization are very short sited an serve only the current economic crunch. I'd rather they just raise taxes if they need to. ST

i support the legalization of all drugs i would rather the government control and tax the illegal drugs instead of violent cartels benifiting from peoples suffering and putting adulterants in the drugs and messing with purity levels in soft and hard drugs. and using the money to buy weapons to kill inocent people and support their own agendas. the money the government could make from taxing private manufacturers of all drugs could go to help communities and help start better drug education programs as well as better drug treatment centers so people would not want drugs in the first place and get help for their addictions if they are addicted already, fuck the DEA and the war on drugs its a waste of our money and totally unnecessary

ST do you drink alcohol? marijuana is less worse then alcohol. prohibition creates more problems then it solves marijuana is a healing drug would you rather that gangs and cartels had control of it to buy weapons and support their own personal agendas I dont care about the short term economic benifits its not the only option. but the way it works now just helps support people who could care less about americans if the government taxed it and other drugs they could use the money to educate our children and creat better treatment facilities for drug addicts and it would kill the cartels number one source of capital

If you own your body, then you have the right to put anything you want into it. It's insulting that I can buy alcohol and cigarettes, but not weed.
