Not only would the reform of Marijuana laws economically give this country so much by way of jobs, a new taxable product that we can grow HERE and not rely on other countries for support, but it would dramatically reduce the amount of non violent prisoners in jail costing taxpayers over $70,000 a year each, for possession of ridiculously minor amounts. There is NO toxicity level at all to be concerned about with it's use (medically proven) unlike even alcohol, these is NO documented mortality rate, destroyed brain cells or men growing breasts(as the goverment rhetoric would have you believe) attributed to pot and medicinally it has more than one PROVEN benefits as an anti- inflammatory, anti- nausea and reduces the devastating effects of chemotherapy on the human body when undergoing treatment for cancer. All in all, people smoke marijuana are 9 times out of 10 more emotionally stable, less violent and are just mellow people. We can't use "lazy teenager" behavior as a gauge for this, as not only should it be taxed and regulated for quality, but it should carry an "18 and over" law similar to cigarettes. Legalizing it is one thing. Being irresponsible and just making it available to everyone is unacceptable. But to have the "choice" to smoke and not be breaking (a ludicrous and outdated) law system would be nice for the hard working, Average Joe that busts his ass at work everyday and should be able to come home, relax and excercise his right to the 1st amendment, without feeling like a criminal.

I completely support the decriminalization of Unisted Stated Marijuana laws as I not only find them in offense to our 1st Amendmant rights, but also believe them to be downright unrealistic, archaic and irrelevant to today's culture. Alcohol is more a threat to our youths than a joint of Cannabis could ever be, yet it's legal and easily bought over the counter(and aquired by our kids just as easily). And it kills thousands of High School teens a year. Marijuana has no documented history of causing death or disease. If it did, the Goverment would have exploited that fact long ago. The TRUTH is that more people have died DUE to "THE WAR ON DRUGS" (whereas Marijuana is concerned) itself and the police and goverment's tactics, than the "WEED" itself could have ever caused inadvertantly.

no. people that smoke crack have a way worse addiction. ive seen people on that stuff and the yact totally different than a pothead. a crack head will steal from whoever and do sexual advances to get their drug but pot heads will not. it is a mental addiction NOT physical and is TOTALLY different than any other drug.

Are you actually SERIOUS????? This is the most rediculous and stupid comment I have EVER read! How can you compare an organic, natural, non-addictive substance that has been relaxing, helping and uniting people for almost 100 years in the USA (since it's inception by Mexican field workers in the early 1900's as a way to relax after a long day in the hot sun) to a DRUG that was engineered in a lab for the sole purpose of causing instant addiction, causes violent behaviour, children stealing from parents, parents stealing from friends, people KILLING for a 20$ fix??? Just because YOU have a weak personality and NEED to numb yourself to reality doesn't mean that anyone should condone your sick, addictive and remorseless behaviour. To try to even stand on your wobbly, jonesing, unbathed, lying and stealing "morals" is a pathetic, sick joke. Get rid of the damn pipe and come back to reality you chicken-head.

I think it should be legalized because people gona still smoke no matter what. Just because government makes so much money off of it, dont want to legalize it.

Marijuana may be fine for recreational use for most people. However, it exacerbates the symptoms of severe mental illness in individuals diagnosed with such disorders. Moreover, the potential health concerns that exposing the lungs to heat can cause adds further burden to the healthcare system (yes tobacco does the same). Nevertheless, if individuals choose to recreationally use these substances and experience health problems attributed to this behavior...I have no problem with only palliative care being given...the user knew the risks and got what they were warned about.

I smoke on a normal everyday basis and it helps so much. Plus there are too many different reasons why this would help our economy

Organic...healing is in most herbs...consumption should be up to the individual...eat drink smoke...what's good for some is not for all. Finacial benefits...no doubt, and the raw materials that produce so many other uses is priceless. Homeopathic is the way to go
