i dont smoke marijuana, but i think it shouldn't be a crime to do so, it is a decision for that person to make, not the governments

I feel it is a far less harmfull drug than other illegal and legal drugs alike. Although I do feel there should be an age requirenment like 18 years of age for purchase.

We've wasted too much money for this to go on anymore, it's obviously not working. Besides, Marijuana is perfectly fine for recreational use, moreso than alcohol....why is it taking so long?!

A person has a write to smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, why not smoke marijuana? Gov. can stop discriminating against people that do, and make money from the people the smoke. Legalizing it and and making money will solve a lot of things, including the economy,. nuff said

Marijuana is a great cure for my anxiety. I get very uncomfortable in social settings and marijuana calms me heart rate down, which eases the situation. The state and insurance companys will benefit greatly if their legalized medicinal marijuana. it would create jobs and boost the economy, which has been done with our current plans.

This cash crop makes suffering patients' lives enjoyable. It puts a smile on almost anyone's face. It's also virtually harmless to the human body. How could a sick government put innocent people in prison for using or growing a plant that is so essential to the human race. This crop can also take over the paper industry, reducing deforestation while putting more oxygen in our air. It's the strongest fiber known to mankind and one of the best plants for oxygenating our air. At least decriminalize it.

Unless there is a provision in place that prohibits persons receiving welfare or any type of welfare benefit (HUD Housing, WIC, etc.) then I am totally against it.
Why let welfare people spend our tax dollars on getting high?
Why is it also the "norm" to see that the vast majority of people on welfare are extremely overweight? How is it that they can afford to get fat in the first place?
Now, if you can "Tax it", prevent it from getting into the hands of minors and prevent our tax dollars from paying for welfare types to smoke it, then I would vote for it being allowed with restrictions such as "No one permitted to own/consume it can carry or own a firearm" and other such measures.
...and when I say "Tax it", I mean tax the hell out of it like they do for fuel, cigarettes and tobacco products as well as booze.
Then we could possibly even balance our budget that way.
But as well, with that, the penalties for failure to obey all laws applicable to "pot" much be strictly enforced with severe fines and jail time for offenders.

It's been in illegal use for years. Should be a source of tax revenue for the state and put a dent in organized crimes revenue stream.

I've yet to know of anyone that has gone to any addiction or rehab program that didn't use marijuana "in the beginning" of their addiction to even more dangerous drugs. As well, most "pot heads" also consume a lot of alcohol as well and regardless of any of the above - "YES" - Marijuana is and can be an "Addictive Drug" to about 10% of the people that start smoking it.
Legalizing it won't "fix" any of our problems in the least, but it will certainly make it easier for people to sell it illegally as well as "lace it" and provide it to our teenagers and well as irresponsible adults.
I don't think that anyone caught smoking a joint should actually go to jail though, but I do think that they should be fined $100 and have a "record" (non-felony) so that their behavior can be 'tracked' accordingly for when they end up in jail for other offenses. As well, it should be a strong tool in determining "whom" gets custody of children in any court.
Legalizing it will only encourage even more inappropriate behavior by those that like to indulge.
Smoke it if you have it, but man up to it when you get caught, pay your "fine" and quit your whining about it.
