With the overcrowding of jails I think the time has come...I read in the paper people being jailed for "manufacturing" pot,GOD DID IT FIRST,perhaps there should be a warrant out for him. There are many plants that are valuable for medicinal purposes,my dentist even used cocaine hydrochloride on me...if it wasn't for the opium poppy plant, our courageous troops would have no morphine when they get shot or blown up by terrorists!!!My only point is all of GODS creation is good,we just have to learn how to use it PROPERLY. Alcohol used to be illegal too,in White county Georgia JESUS could be prosecuted for turning water into wine without a permit!I personally do not smoke pot but it does make me sad when rapists, home invaders, and murderers get off free and "why are you in here man"?Pot!Lets get serious on real hard criminals and relieve our law enforcement of all this needless paperwork

Want to help with our economy? Legalize pot, sell it like cigarettes and tax the hell out of it like cigarettes.

many many reasons. Our economy could really use a boost from this. We could not only sell it in stores, but it would create jobs for millions, working to harvest and farm this golden egg of a cash crop. It would help our enviroment in many ways. We wouldn't need trees for paper, because hemp makes great paper, rope, clothing, shoes. Hey no more sweat shops over seas, because the big shoe companies would save millions here in the states with this wonder plant, this gift from God. If Cannibus was allowed to grow wild out in the western part of the country. Its strong root system could help the erosion that makes for those nasty mud slides that plague the folks out there. No more mexican cartels trafficing across our borders and useing the drug money to do even more serious crimes. Peace of mind for patients in need for the medical benefits that come with wonder plant. We not using this plant for our advantage is like spitting in the wind, and you know what they say about spitting in the wind.

It is used as medicine now- it is a mistake to lump it into dangerous drugs.. The economy would benefit.

Yea...Thats what this country needs right now! Some hard working pot heads!Everyone knows pot would be awesome for those smoke breaks at work,or while driving home.It would be real good for the school kids having something so readily available daily. It would also help give cops something to do,if they cant get you for drinking.Hows that already slow fast lane gonna be on 985 loaded down with stoned drivers every day?Maybe thats whats wrong with left lanes now?Everyones stoned running 40 mph.LOL

It would not only solve some crime but it would also help with the economy to create jobs. As well as generate revenue for the government from additional taxization.

There is nothing more dangerous in marijuana use than alcohol. And, in fact, fewer side effects. Marijuana is not physically addictive, nor does it produce the radical side effects from withdrawal. Other than the possibility of over-indulgence, like anything, including food, I see no reason for this substance to be illegal.

You seem very ignorant. I think you need to first apologize to God for blaspheming Him with your sacrilegious 'examples' and secondly- you need to seek Him. I can imagine you are probably a pot smoker yourself or you're one of those parents who allow your children to drink and have premarital sex in your home. However, saying that 'God invented it and Jesus should be prosecuted'- that's about as dumb as saying that God invented death, so someone who commits murder is just speeding up the process and shouldn't be punished. Think before u speak, and prioritize your morals.

Let's at least make some money and compared to the rest of the popular picks of drugs, even alcohol, causes more deaths than marijuana

It is a natural medicine provided to us for thousands of years. No one has ever died from an overdose of cannibis, and it makes people easier to get along with, unlike alcohol. I would much rather be around people smoking cannibis than people drinking alcohol.

Ban alcohol! Marijuana has not killing anyone, or made anyone run off the road. There are medicinal purposes for it, it grows from the ground. You have to brew alcohol, and alcohol stirs up anger, and lots more.

Look at the advantages of legalization? The government would settle the national debt in a matter of months with the taxes. Less killing, stealing, and auto accidents. What could be better for solving more problems like the jails and prisons being over-populated. Most of the people incarcerated are not the drug lords, but users that got caught and abused by the system!!

There's too many purposes for it not to be legal;however, the 'war on drugs' campaign should be illegal.Lets not talk about being financially broke America if we spend billions on a fraudulent program that prevents us from making trillions.

your ignorance to the topic is proof that we need to educate America on the truth about this plant and stop selling the American people this propoganda. Drugs like Prozac and Xanax are man made DRUGS,with wicked side effects, that are 'gateway' to addiction, crime, suicide, etc. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!! The Drug companies are at war over our money and the politicians are getting rich keeping it going.
