It is silly that people fear a plant that humans have been using for thousands of years. It's even sillier that people think its ok that medicine that can cause suicidal thoughts, rectal bleeding, severe addiction, even death is ok. Wake up people. Think with your brain.

It's part of the constitution. It's ok if you don't know what the constitution is. It's not going to exist much longer anyways. Yea, United States! It will be interesting how they teach that in school.

Your correct,we don't need more legal drugs. We have alcohol. Not everyone wants pot to be legal so they can smoke it.Some want it because the oil that comes from the resins of marijuana kills cancer cells and it does so without any side affects and it doesn't hurt the organs or tissue the cancer has attached itself to.So instead of living for another 6 months to a year with present treatments a person can live until old age catches up with them.It is going to take some time to turn all the brianwashing around that everyone has been subject to for almost a century now.I don't do the stuff, but it is not cool to kill off the populas just becqause something is a schedual 1 drug, don't you think?

Lol couldn't have said it better myself. Trouble is, no one thinks for themselves anymore....they believe what they are told on the news & besides we all spend plenty of tax dollars on elected officials to tell us what we should think. Sad!

I feel marijuana should be legalized before alcohol. Look at all the drunk driving deaths. People who smoke marijuana usually don't even want to leave the house. And what about the benefits for people with medical issues. My former mother in law has MS and marijuana calms her nerves to where she can live a normal life. It's sad that the government can't see the benefits of legalizing it.

Have any of you actually researched why it's illegal? You can't legalize things you cant regulate. Everyone can grow marijuana, it grows like weeds(hence the alias). It was mainly made illegal because the current system couldnt regulate it, and because the businessmen and government of the 1930s were afraid of a cheap fuel, paper, rope, and dozens of other uses for it.

In 1937, the Marijuana Tax Stamp Act prohibited the use, sale and cultivation of hemp/marijuana in the United States. Five years later, during World War II, the U.S. Department of Agriculture released the film, "Hemp for Victory", which encouraged American Farmers to grow hemp for the war effort. Hemp is cultivated all over the world.

Today China, Korea, Italy, Hungary, Russia and France are among the countries that grow hemp for fiber, paper and other products.

In 1988, the DEA's own administrative law judge concluded that "marijuana is one of the safest, therapeutically active substances known to man."

Seriously, look up the propaganda from 1930s-1940s on marijuana. Plus it's extremely hard to get a non-biased research group in this age(most say they are but if you look at their finances you see lots of irregular activity around marijuana).
