The costs of hunting and punishing even recreational users hurts our community, as compared to the income it would bring in. Also, urine analysis keeps good workers out of work due to the length of time it stays in the system. Percoset and vicodin cause disorientation, they are illegal without prescription, but their use is not as frowned upon because it is not strictly illegal. People die from overuse and accidents from prescription pills, and alcohol, but they remain the more appropriate choices for employers and police officers to ignore. Not in the people's best interest if you ask me.

Marijuana is good for your skin, also hemp does not kill your brain cells. That lie was told back in the day.

Some 70-80% of all persons now in federal and state prisons in America wouldn't have been there as criminals until just 60 or so years ago. In other words we, in our (Anslinger and Hearst inspired) ignorance and prejudice, have placed approximately 800,000 of the 1.2 million people in American prisons (as of August 4, 1998) for crimes that were, at worst, minor habits, up until the Harrison Act, 1914 (whereby the U.S. Supreme Court in 1924 first ruled that drug addicts weren't sick, they were instead vile criminals).

I do not consider these people violent, I think we could make our prisons available to more deserving criminals. Make it just as legal as liquor, punishable offense if given to children. We have given too much revenue toward policing it. If it was legal, it would not be a lucrative commodity for the cartels, which just suck the American dollar out of here like a vacuum cleaner. There will always be stupid people, so if they want to take it, maybe it is a good way to get rid of the lower end of the gene pool
