Careful he might actually think you're serious instead of being sarcastic.
Truth is we're already going down this bad slope with the Plan B pill.
Next will be birth control pills being sold off the shelves.
Then marijuana, then muscle relaxers, pain pills.
Probably everything except a cold tablet.

The irony in all this is some posters in here think they are supportive of drug addicts and rehab.
But in truth by their pushing for more legalization of marijuana, plan B pill, etc they are just growing the number of drug users.

In the end we'll see more car accidents, domestic violence, home invasions, robbery, and even murder.
Because that is what druggies do while they are waiting to be saved by rehab.

Right. Why fight a war we can't win. Better off to spend the dollars on something productive, like stopping the user.

there are two kinds of addicts.
Those who have a chemical dependency, and those who have a mental dependency.
And actually some have a combination of both.
As for marijuana its probably more of a mental then chemical dependency.
But its still a dependency for it.
You really don't see people quitting it once they get hooked on it.
Of course since most posters on this thread use it or at least support those who do i'm sure they'll say its not an addiction.
Gamblers say that a lot too.
At least most drunks know and admit they are drunks and addicted to alcohol. I give them credit for that.

not all users are addicts
i dont care what it is, alcohol, pot, drugs, gambling, whatever
if its abused you are an addict
if you are an occasional user you are not an addict
big difference

There are differences among addicts such as POT and and other drugs are ILLEGAL to use whether you're a so called occasional user or a non occasional user.
That is different from the addict who is gambling in a LEGAL environment such as a casino, or the drunken addict getting LEGALLY slouched in his living room.

Pot smokers and ILLEGAL drug users are addicts regardless of how often they do it.
They can't stop and won't stop and that makes them an addict.
They are so addicted they are willing to go to jail for it.
If that isn't an addiction what is ?

Correct. And no one is going to jail over an occasional illegal joint or an occasional illegal pill so that argument is silly.

Right? You go to jail over a joint once in awhile? Too funny.

I appreciate your point of view even if it does differ from mine.
I must point out that everyone really hates the fact i have a different opinion. They will at some point ask you to boycott writing to me.
Unless its to impersonate my screen name, insult me, or swear at me.
That they have no problem with anyone doing.

Anyway i would really like to think recreational drug use was harmless.
Such as having a glass of wine with a good steak is.
I myself used to treat myself that way on my wedding anniversary.
But there is a difference.
Marijuana and drugs are still illegal.
Yes you won't go to jail for a first timer. Or a second time.
But at some point a person will go to jail.
Maybe because of having much of it you have on your person ?
Maybe its because you're in a car ?
Recreational or not its still illegal.
If you are using it i hope you stop.
good luck and thanks for your post.

Thats just ridiculous. I know tons of people that have smoked pot recreationally for years. None of them have been in jail. Not one. They all have jobs, families and like to have an occasional joint after dinner, like you have your wine. No difference. The fact that its illegal is a joke. It shouldnt be. None of them are going to go to jail for smoking a joint once in awhile. Thats just crazy that you even think that way. It just goes to show you dont know a lot about pot smokers. You may think you dont know one but you do. They are your neighbors, friends, people you know, at the grocery store, library, police officers, fireman, holding jobs and living normal lives.

There is a difference. Wine is legal pot is not.
Plus i only had one glass a year with my wife on our anniversary. That's way less then recreational.

The fact that its illegal is a joke. It shouldn't be.
that is an opinion and you're entitled to it.

None of them are going to go to jail for smoking a joint once in awhile.
check with the cops you'll find out some do go to jail especially those in auto accidents

Thats just crazy that you even think that way.
really ?? lets not insult each other and just stick to the topic

It just goes to show you dont know a lot about pot smokers.
Actually i do know a lot of them. Worked with them, even have one as a relative ( we're not close but on good terms )

holding jobs and living normal lives.
i never could get the holding the job part. Murders, rapist, and armed robbers all hold jobs too. So of course they can hold jobs too.
But normal life ? Knowing you're breaking a law that could cause problems in your life. How is that normal ?

Anyway glad to share a difference of opinions with you.
topic would be boring if we all said the same things.
please no more insult.
There already is plenty of people doing that in here.

Carrie one more thing.
I don't know how new you are to topix.
Or at least this forum.
But sadly there are some that just want to harass me.
So be careful of the ones using my screen name.
I'm sure you can tell them from me.
they lack my savoir-faire.

Don't forget that a lot of these pot smokers taking a chance with jail also have children and put their drug usage above the safety and stability of their children if they were to get caught.

GREAT POINT
it also helps to define them as addicted.
Anyone who would put loving family behind their use of marijuana is certainly addicted to it.

What about the legal use of Marijuana?

How do you explain that fact that U.S. Doctors are promoting this use!

Even in Illinois, with the proposed Medical Marijuana Law, once again - Doctors are leading the call.

These Doctors are claiming specific Medical benefits that are unique to this plant.

How do you explain this?

P.S. There many be a lot of Cops that should be Doctors if they truely feel that they know better than the REAL DOCTORS that are in favor the health benefits offered by Marijuana.

How can this be?

Maybe these Doctors should be arrested too?
