Before pot is legalized there needs to be parameters set. How much THC can be in a person's system before they can be determined to be "under the influence". There needs to be a test developed that can be administered by law enforcement when making a road side stop. Northern California has a tremendous problem with marijuana. Thousands of plants pulled weekly, growers involved with shoot outs LEO'S. Some say the solution would be to legalize it as the price would plummet. If people would not feel that they "need" it to relax and stopped using, the vast amount of problems associated with pot would vanish.

We do not need more impaired drivers on the roads, which would happen if it were to be legalized.

As a pot smoker from the week I came back from Vietnam, I can attest that it does not lead to stronger drugs. Also it is nobody's business what I do in my home

Marijuana consumed on your own time should be legal. A person should not be high at work but other than that the affects are quite mild compared to other legal substances.

Pot is already legal in Alaska and has been for at least 35 years.

How much THC can be in a person's system before they are deemed impaired in Alaska? What is the name of the road side test that is administered to determine that level? Bob and Mike are involved in an accident. Bob has had a few beers, blows a .076 on the BAC machine. Mike had just finished smoking 5 bowls of pot in the privacy of his home before hitting the road. The argument I make is that legalization will accomplish 2 things:
First: it will permit the government to save the millions of dollars it spends to eradicate the plant and millions more to interdict shipments and still millions more to apprehend, convict and store persons in jails and prisions for violating federal and state marijuana drug laws.

Second: legalization of marijuana will allow control and taxation of the production and sale of marijuana. Decriminalization of marijuana has NO downside.

I feel as though Marijuana is a safer option then drinking or even tobacco.It helps focus the mind and relax the body.
