Washington, DC: Feb-17-2011 The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is considering reclassifying plant-derived THC, the primary psychoactive compound in marijuana, from schedule I to schedule III controlled substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act, according to a report published last week. This would make Medical Marijuana one step closer to being legal across America.

See everyone March-2 for the protest walk in Lafayette, also the police will be escorting for our safty.

Actually, they were stupid and gimmicky about it. Because the plant derived THC would be a schedule III drug, but the plant itself would be a schedule I drug.
Fucking DEA, they only do it to push their cannabis-based drugs like Marinol ahead while they continue to ask for a higher budget to persecute cannabis.
A bunch of hypocrites.

You have many enforcment agents who have no problem with marijuana use while going all out to bust cocaine use. Thee epitomy of hypocrisy in the enforcment agencies!!
To distinguish one form of illegallity as more important than another in terms of the law would be discriminatory!!!!
And it is.
If people only knew.

Let me put it this way Mitch,
In your city you got speeders and jay walkers.

Now, which group do you think Law Enforcement should focus on?

You understand, a coke head will rob you at gun point to support his habit but a pot head probably won't.

You say you started smoking weed before you were twelve and were stoned until you were forty. Imagine where you'd be if you were strung out on cocaine that whole time.

Thee epitomy of hypocrisy is in your court.

That would be another statement I've never made.
You fancy yourself a savior but hire a gatekeeper to do your work.

You most very well did make such statements. In fact you thought it was cute, and funny. You and your best friend, the career alter boys of Pointe Coupee, stoned for every mass. Remember your stories of school days spent getting stoned and watching daytime dramas or searching through the trash to find the stash your mommy threw away. All dat is true.

You'll have to explain your savior and gatekeeper statement but please do it on another thread instead of hi-jacking this one.

To get the discussion back on track,

In my opinion, the legalization of marijuana will have little impact on the decline of decency inside our society. Consider domestic violence as one gage. Many of those who perpetrate a domestic attack are under the influence of Alchohol or coke or crack. Stoners don't have the energy to throw punches.

I'd much rather live next door to a stoner with good music than live next to a shoot 'em up party guy drinking Tequila.

One of the biggest arguments against legalization of weed in Washington was that it would attract low lives to our state. And sure enough, within thirty days of weed being legal, that FKaway person from the Cajunville Topix forum claimed to be smokin' away in Bremerton, Washington, of all places.

This is the same person who claims to be backing up the good reputation of Sheriff Couvillon, Mike Harson, Donnell Dent and other devious ones.
LOL

FACTS:
Washington State spent $20 million dollars a year prosecuting marijuana possession charges. There were 63 million arrests in the last 25 years and 35 million of those were in the last decade.

These were possession only charges that will no longer be executed, however, you can still be arrested for intent to distribute because it is still illegal to buy or sell or grow marijuana in the State of Washington.

This leaves us with a very awkward law for law enforcement even though the Feds say they will not challenge the new law of legalizing possession.

Very awkward, indeed.

No harm, people are doing it anyway. I could write much more but I don't feel like explaining all of the positive aspects because it would take too long and frankly, I'm pretty lazy atm.

If you are under 25 and have been smoking weed for over five years, you probably still have most of your brain cells. Yes, so far it has not harmed you. You will smoke for 15 more years, and you will still feel like you are normal. But you and the other stoners will be the only ones who think you are normal. Because weed kills off that part of the brain, that recognizes abnormality in ones self. keep smoking weed, and you'll be a loser also. I have known a dozen long term smokers.. They were all still normal at 26 yrs old. None were normal at 40. Zero were normal. How many of them thought they were still normal after smoking weed for 20 years? All of them. None were pretty either. Smoke weed for 20 years, and you too will be ugly. You too will look ten years older than you really are.

Yes I do, Think of the money we would save housing and feeding these folks. Alcohol is way worse and I feel it should be illegal instead . It should be taxed and think of the revenue it would create. My opinion.

I think this is a stupid thing to say! You must not know much about it. It is ok to go get drunk and stupid and get on the road and kill people....heard that before, drunk drivers killing people?
How many times have you heard of a person smoking pot and killing someone on the highway?
What could possibly be wrong with someone who worked a long hard day to come home and relax and smoke a joint? You can die from an alcohol posioning, ever heard of anyone OD'ing or dying from Pot. No you haven't. You can't OD on pot.
