I feel that the feds have done very little about illegals entering the country, so i think the each state should do what they think is right to protect there borders and there state.

I once had a softer spot for illegal immigrants but, after speaking to my wife, an HR supervisor at a mfg co. and a neighbor who works for INS, I am now COMPLETELY againas illegal immigrants. On top of that, only the Mexican illegals are getting the attention as they are the only ones protesting, other ethnicities' illegal immigrants are just as big a detriment to this country.

You are correct if you are referring to the lawmakers but, if you are talking about I.C.E. you need to realize that they are outnumbered 600 to 1 (based on 12,000,000 illegals to 20,000 I.C.E. officers). Now, unfortunately another problem is that those willing to toe the hardline on enforcement tend to be conservatives and the last thing conservatives are willing to do is pay more in taxes in order to take care of business. A bit of a catch 22.....

There are about 12 million undocumented immigrants in our nation. It will be impossible to remove all and not healthy for America if we could.
Instead of removing every undocumented immigrant willy nilly we need immigration reform prioritizing those who must leave and those who can continue their lives here according to standards that we as a nation must determine.
Some undocumented immigrants have been assigned PIN numbers by the IRS to pay taxes and have done so for many years. They should be on the top of the list of those who can stay.
The Arizona law does no favors for America. By not accepting drivers licenses from all states, it will likely lead to a national ID card and the requirement for citizens to carry it at all times.
Many are out of work at this time, but few have been displaced by an undocumented worker. The undocumented immigrants did not cause the recession. Large corporations, poor decisions on of banks' lending policy, regressive tax policies, out sourcing etc has lead to the recession. Kicking out 12 million people will not solve your problems.
Strengthening the labor unions, fighting for workers rights, supporting regulations on the banks, and a tax policy that does not favor a select few at the expense of everyday people...Now that is something to fight for!

If a driver runs a red light in Arizona, and presents a real Arizona license, that is automatic verification they are legal. If they present an Illinois license they bought on 26th street in little village, and the interstate computer check says "no such license ever issued" what would you expect the police to do? Police everywhere routinely check drivers licenses on the computer every traffic stop. Try presenting a phoney license to a cop in Illinois and see what happens. If they are legal, and have a real drivers license, they have nothing to worry about.

A lot of out of work construction workers would disagree with that.

Illegals cost Illinois $4.5 BILLION which is most of the defict. Before taking pensions away from 80 year old retired teachers and raising taxes on every taxpayer, we should cut off the free medical and all other free housing, food stamps and welfare money that Illinois gives to Illegals. Cut them off entirely and they will go back on their own.
