When I was young I lived on border between Arizona and Mexico, just East of Douglas. I never had a problem hiking, camping, or just riding in that area. Now it is more likely that you will run into illegals many who are armed and carrying firearms. I have found loaded weapons including an AK47.
Now the border area is controlled my Mexico. Uniformed soldiers from Mexico have been seen inside the United States.
The federal government refuses to do anything to stop the invasion, so I support Arizona in their attempt to restore law and order.
