If I write a law demanding that police stop and question those who look like drunks and include language that they are not to use a drunk profile the law may appear, in the reading, to be valid, but still is a profiling law. The main point is, however, that a judge looked it over and zapped it out of service for entirely different reasons on strictly constitutional ground. The Arizona legislature cannot take to itself the prerogatives of the federal government. It simply does not have the authority to do so. That is and was the nub of the matter. The Arizona law is over and dead. Kiss it goodbye. Even the governor is backing down, you will notice. If you read the law and understand the constitution how it was written and not how left wing nuts define it you will find that it is fully constitutional. Therefor I am hopeful in the end it will be fully enforced. You really need to read it, the constitution and the constitutions supporting documents, then perhaps you will understand and fight to make this country better and stronger rather than try to weaken it.

All irrelevant. The courts have scotched it and Brewer is backing down. You are at liberty to think differently, but that is the situation here in Phoenix.

One liberal judge nixed part of it has and Brewer is looking into what is the best course to pursue for the state that is how it is but you still should read the law so you don't sound so uninformed. This will go to the Supreme court, who if you understand the constitution is really the only court that has jurisdiction when the federal government sues a state, that will determine how this law will be enforced.
