Well, the Dream Act is hot and heavy in the Senate. Reid and Durbin are giving it the hard press and trying to cut deals as we speak. It is going to be discussed over the next several days. Wouldn't shock me at all if it passed. The Republicans' constitutents want the cheap labor and the Democratic party wants the voters. They're just looking for the right excuse, or right level of apathy to sneak it in.

It's up for vote on Saturday according to Sen. Reid. We'll see if it gets by the Senate. It enjoys pretty strong bipartisan support, and the military is clamoring for it -- apparently, in addition to not wanting to cook or clean, Americans also don't want to serve in the military anymore. It only lost by 8 votes in the Senate last time. However, I'm sure many fear backlash should they vote yes in this economic climate so it probably won't make it this time around. Eventually though, when the economy improves, I predict the Dream Act will pass.

There are more Americans that cook and clean their own homes then hire illegals to do it. So, why do all of you think that all the American citizens have lots of money. Illegal means just that...they are crimials! Would you allow a crimial into you home?

The National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers issued a strong statement after the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. The association criticized the leadership in Washington for its mishandling of the border violence issue and is calling for the immediate elimination of restrictions that prohibit border patrol on public land.

Below is the full statement issued by the NAFBPO...

During the late evening of 12-14-10, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was performing his duty in the area of Peck Canyon near Rio Rico, Arizona, when he was murdered by armed bandits.

This is the latest in a long series of incidents in which foreign bandits and thugs have shot, assaulted, robbed and otherwise preyed upon U.S. law enforcement officers and citizens.

Our leaders in Washington, D.C. have chosen the path of "crisis management" instead of resolving the crisis through concise and immediate remedial action.

U.S. law enforcement officers have been murdered in major U.S. cities by illegal aliens. U.S. citizens have been kidnapped and murdered by foreign nationals.

U.S. Border Patrol Agents have long been at the forefront in this war on lawlessness generated by our leaders' failure to secure our borders, and to do so in reality

Now, Agent Brian Terry has become the latest sacrifice on the altar of political correctness.

We call for immediate implementation of our Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement proposal.

We call for eliminating all restrictions that impede or hinder Border Patrol operations along the U.S./Mexico border on public lands.

We call for the deployment of U.S. military units to help secure the border and thus eliminate the violence generated by drug cartels for control of drug routes into the USA.
