I am a Republican that fully supports something happening with healthcare. At a minimum, people with pre-existing conditions need to be formulated in the rate and everyone pay the same.

Everyone pay's the same, I'd like that. BUT.....

The approved house plan, section 243 (page 137) gives the table on how to figure the premium rates poeple will be paying. Because I couldn't copy and paste off the PDF file, I can't post it, but basically every family of four making under 55k per year will pay about 3% of their gross towards premiums. A family of 4 making 20k a year will have $600 per year, or $50 a month.

The rate % goes higher for higher incomes.
40k+ is 6%
70k+ is 9%
154k+ is 11%

Smaller government- not larger. I agree that there needs to be tort reform but I am not a fan of paying for everyone else's insurance. The government sticks their hand far enough into my pocket- I don't need more taken away from me.

Pre-Existing Conditions?” Blunt Says Tough Luck
Share456

Do you oppose insurance companies discriminating against people due to “pre-existing conditions”? Missouri Republican Roy Blunt doesn’t. The Republican Senate candidate recently spoke in favor of insurance discrimination:

“Access for kids who have pre-existing conditions, who would be against that? But access for adults … that’s a very different kind of story.”

Why doesn’t he want adults protected? According to Blunt, adults are sick because they’ve “done nothing to take care of themselves.” We’d like to see Blunt explain that position to people with breast cancer, seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis, among others.

All this, from the chairman of the GOP’s health care task force.
