Medicare, as an insurance option should be available to all who want it, and I hope one day we'll have socialized medicine, like all other civilized nations on earth.

Medicare rides the back of what we have now. If we go national, then medicare would pay the price, since it is a losing proposition to begin with. You can only get so many handouts from the government before you break it. Guess it depends on who is feeding and who sits back and gets fed.
