If our government can't even dispense the flu vacine, or the processing of payment for such, why should I want a government agency deciding if I should get surgery or other medical services?

I have always worked to support myself and/or family. I have never taken food stamps, or welfare, even though when my husband was in the Army and we had an infant son; we moved and did not get paid for about 2 months; because the post office returned our check and would not let us pick it up, or forward it to us (more government mess ups!) I have always paid for my medical care and/or had insurance because I either purchased it directly or had it through my employer. So why should I (we) be punished because of either illegal or flagarent people milking the system. Not to appear uncaring, I have a nephew who had his 5th - 6th virtabrae crushed in an auto accident and he is on SSI, and with those who really need it I'm very glad it is there. However, even he has problems with the current system and getting to see the "right kind" of doctor who understands the aspects of spinal cord injuries. He has no choice but to try to make the current system works - and for the most part it is very slow and not effective.
