As a country I do not think we can afford the huge 1500 page health care reform. There are simpler solutions to start with - opening up competition between states, etc. to help keep costs down. I also have a huge problem if the government exempts themselves from a "public option". As the "employer" of government employees I think it is up to the tax payer to decide what health insurance government should have - not for them to exempt themselves without allowing anyone to have a say in their insurance.
