In what part of the Constitution does it say the government should provide health care? Let's stop expanding the size of the government. If it is such a good idea it would have been implemented sometime in the last 100 years.

We either have to be a society that takes care of its people or just come right out and say that we don't care if you die because you don't have the money for health care.

I bet you have some kind of insurance. So do I, but I know that, without it, I wouldn't be able to afford health care except on a very basic level. Who'd be able to afford surgery or chemo without insurance? Worse yet, is who can afford insurance without a job? Families who want GOOD healthcare coverage are forced to pay in the neighborhood of $12,000 to $14,000 a year for coverage that has lifetime limits. What if that was 1/3 of your income? Could you do it?

We have to make up our minds about whether we want to be a society that takes care of its people or not. If not, then let's stop pretending and just say that we want anyone with life threatening injuries or diseases to go ahead and die if they can't afford health care on their own. Let's stop pretending we're a compassionate people.

As with every other govenerment program that has been divised it will be ill managed, wasteful, corrupt, and the government has no business in the health care arena.
